The purge part 2

I just want to say that I think it's really, really stellar of you guys to be dolling out back slaps to various members for being the reasons why you're here.

Even though we all know you came for the landscape threads, I'll just go along with all of this.

Thought of you today . .. my son (10) found a key lime (not sure the difference between key lime and regular lime) tree (bush?) for $20 so we bought it and planted it in the back yard . .. .

Long story about a clogged gutter leading to a "hole" in the beds next to the house which filled with water in the last storm and seeped into the house.   So I was buying soil to fill the hole, mulch to rebuild the bed and later this week when the gutters dry out, I have to get a ladder and clean them.

Which may lead to installing a rain barrel water capture system for the house. . ..

Don't let the EPA know about that rain barrel. They'll want to regulate that. Wish I could laugh but that's where it's heading.

For your lime tree, plenty of water for the first month. Frequency depends on how well you water each time. If you saturate the root ball, then that's likely good for once a week. Do not fertilize for the first two months and honestly, by then, fall will be arriving and there's no sense in doing it then, either.

At the end of January, sprinkle some 10-5-5 around the base of the tree and you'll have a very happy tree emerge in spring.

A cheap solution for the gutter issue, buy a watermelon sized moss rock boulder and place where the water comes out of the downspout. This will deflect and splatter the water, spreading it around the area instead of eroding. A boulder that size will run you $15-$20. I do sell them.

JG, I've heard Overstreet is being courted by Lamar.
