This evening we talked to two sources regarding new Texas commit, Tristan Nickelson, and what to expect from the 6-9, 320 lb. offensive tackle.
A source told HornSports that Nickelson doesn't just play well, he plays with a purpose. In fact, the exact quote we were delivered was this: "the kid is a MONSTER." We were also told from this same source "Don't be fooled by the 2 stars that the recruiting services give him. The Longhorns are getting a lot more."
Next, a source on the coaching side of things at Navarro told us that Nickelson is at least a 2nd round draft pick. "He just needs to add more strength to his game, which he will get at UT."
From all appearances Nickelson looks like a Wickline project that might not be so much of a "project" after all. Only time will tell but he will have 3 years of eligibility in Austin to showcase his talent.
