The fallout from last night

I have a few questions that I'm trying to figure out.

1 - Given how publicly this has played out, what are the chances we get top tier coach if and when Mac steps down? I know everyone will say Texas is one of the top 2-3 coaching positions in college football but if you were a coach and have been witnessing what just happened are you ready to jump into this mess? I'm not sure I would be. Unlike Mac most coaches just want to coach and want nothing to do with the politics of the university.

2 - Our recruiting class. If this drags out until after the bowl game and them Mac retires how much will be left of this class? I know there are those that have been ready to go to UT since they were born but there are also those that aren't in that situation - will they stay committed.

Thoughts?

With all of the ego stroking going on last night at the football banquet, Mack isn't going anywhere until he's ready. That is perfectly clear. Mack has at least another year in him, maybe 2. However many years it takes him to pass DKR

the UT coaching position will still be coveted by many people even if they dont come out and say so, and WHY ? because the job PAY$$$$, there are coaches out there saying to themselves "I can build a winner with the resources Texas has to offer"

same goes for the recruits, kids come to Texas to be a LONGHORN, never heard of a former player say they came to Texas to play for Mack Brown..MB is not bigger than the University, the football program itself..If a kid decides they dont want to come to Austin then say goodbye, they arent Longhorn material, I want young men that want to come here and play, not someone that has to be talked into coming here to play

If my 55 years on this earth have taught me anything it's that things are never as good as they look, or as bad as they seem.
