The Big 12 – the final season

Everyone thinks we will win the big 12.  They are right to.

It is time for Texas to rise from the dead and be relevant again in terms of competing at the highest levels consistently.

most talent since 2012 squad?

Hook ‘em!

I think it's the most talent since 2005.

Mack never had a portal to work with.

Is there a weakness on this team? DB...nope, LB...nope, WR...nope, TE...nope, QB...LMAO, RB...you get the picture. I hear people talk about IOL, but we have a center who is an upper classman and one of the best in the conference. The two guards around him are young but talented. The '22 OL class was insane. The only other spot is Edge. I'm sure a combination of Burke, Finkley, Tapp, Bledsoe and Vasek will chase QB's around the pocket.

If we dont finish 1st we should  try get out SEC contract and try to get one in conference USA.  Not sure we could handle Sun Belt

My friends, I agree that Texas is the #1 pick to win the conference.  I also agree that McGuire is making some improvements at Tech.

However, I don’t agree with the total dismissal of BYU. That happens almost every year, until you watch the patterns.

1) Few people remember who their recruits are because most do their 2 year Morman mission trip immediately after high school.

2) During that 2 year mission trip, 18 year olds become 20 year olds with corresponding strength gains. Who believes that the offensive and defensive lines are critical to a successful team?  They generally complete their eligibility at 24 or 25.

3) Their home games are at altitude. 4,551 feet to be precise. That is roughly 700 feet less than a mile.

It doesn’t matter how fit you are at sea level, that altitude will diminish one’s aerobic capacity and energy level.

By observation and actual experience, it takes about 24 hours for the altitude to really take effect, and it takes about 6 months to adapt (increase red blood cells).

SUMMARY:  I have always thought a team should fly into the closest low altitude location a day or two before, then hop on their jet and fly into Provo on game day to diminish the impact as much as possible.

Just my two cents.

I set the over/under for the Horns down at 1,000,000,000.
I actually kinda like it though. Every school in the country has one eye peeled on what’s Texas doing. Hell Oklahoma has their recruits do it on a recruiting visit. If I was a recruit and they were spending that much time talking about and dissing Texas……….I think I would want to visit Texas to see what it’s all about. It’s crazy as good as Oklahoma has been over the years that they have their recruits do that.
