*****Texas vs. West Virginia*****

We throw more lateral passes to the sideline than I've ever seen a team throw. We have passes for zero yards and bombs. The mid range game sucks. Never enough slants or quick outs or screens, never!

Gilbert is not maximizing his talent. Fast and tall WRs running short outs instead of medium and downfield routes. I don't get it. How about sending Johnson beyond the sticks on that fourth down play? Did Johnson run a crappy route and have poor down marker awareness? Who knows.

Maybe I'm a softie, but we do have a Freshman QB,and a Freshman C. I thought WVU brought some well disguised blitzes that confused Shack and Shane. There were times Shane didn't have a lot of time to go to his 2nd, 3rd or 4th options. Totally agree that we don't work the middle of the field and we should. I did like the QB run more this game and the passes to Foreman (including the shovel pass). I really didn't think clock management was that big a concern on the final drive. Shane took what he could and put them in position with a 1:30 and no timeouts.

Good news is we have Kansas next week and I'm going.

Just got back from a fishing trip so I did not see the game.

Sounds like were we well coached we could've won. I think I've heard that before.

Sick of this shit.
It was a scrappy slugfest, but we ended up on the losing side. Not near as bad as Kstate game, if that helps

While I don't agree the coaches cost the game, being a coach I'm of the school that players win games and coaches lose them. So, I put the blame on the coaches :)

So 6-6 is most likely Mr Charlie Strongs outcome.  Currently 7th place in this very weak Big 12 conference.

If a win vs mighty Kansas and a 6-6 record is enough for this guy to keep his job then.....thats just sad.

It seems like Charlie always plays close to the level of the competition but just a little short.

After 3 years he is a 5 million a year .500 head coach.

If UT wins a 6th game ( I can see UT losing to Ks and TCU both though ), I don't know of a bowl eligible team out there that they can beat. That's all we need is a bowl loss to dwell on all off season to go along with this miserable 3 year span.
