As Texas prepares for TCU tomorrow at DKR, reminiscing about my growing-up-days in Fort Worth have brought up a swell of disdain and passion for TCU. I played high school baseball for Southwest High School (home of Robbie Rhoades who I still hope will play football at Texas and shun Baylor) and we were forced to clean Amon Carter stadium every Saturday for every home game. I hated it beyond words.
I did my thing with the baseball team, moved away and went to UT for college. I came back to Amon Carter Stadium on September 24, 1994 last. when Texas played TCU at home. How do I remember? I was at Abernathy's bar and Grill on Berry Street watching Cordell Steward throw a hail mary to beat Michigan before I walked to AC for our game. Max Knacke was the qb (I despised his ass more than words because I thought he was a snobby little shit) and I hated TCU students, mainly because of the frat boys that circulated the Fort Worth area like they were something special.... Idiots. We beat TCU that day 34-18 with John Mackovic's sweater never getting an ounce of dirt on it.
We went our separate ways as far as conferences were concerned after the SWC but now, here we are, back in the same conference. Those purple bastards always thought they were as good as us, which they are sorely mistaken.
My thoughts on the game (random as hell):
Tomorrow is Senior Night and the final home game for our Senior football players. This will be an emotional night for all but guys like Marquise Goodwin, Kenny Vaccarro, Jeremy Hills, DJ Grant, Luke Poehlmann...... This is goodbye for them. Thanks to the Seniors for what they did and continue to do for UT.
The offense must continue to convert 3rd downs at an impressive rate, the offensive line needs to play lights out (which they have been in the last few games) and our defense has to play better. I think we win this game by 10 points tomorrow in front of a national audience.
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody.
I'm thankful for this:
And not this:
God Bless UT. Frogs suck.
For those fans of Salinger, I find this quote quite fitting for TCU chix...
"She was a girl who for a ringing phone dropped exactly nothing. She looked as if her phone had been ringing continually ever since she had reached puberty."

- TCU was 4-0 before losing Casey Pachall to cocaine. Eric Clapton would be proud but Gary Patterson isn't.
- Life after Pachall's exit to rehab has not been kind to TCU. They are 2-4 since then.....
- Freshman QB Trevone Boykin is a good little qb but has had his share of issues (part of the freshman learning curve). He has thrown for approximately 1500 yards, 14 touchdowns and 8 picks. Again, not too shabby for a frosh qb.
- TCU's Josh Boyce is a serious and legit threat at wide receiver. This kis can do a number on our secondary if we do not watch him!!!!
- The story of TCU is not their offense but their defense which is ranked 16th in total defense anongst FBS schools. They give up 326 yards per game and their rushing defense is REALLY GOOD. David Ash will have to air it out frequently to keep the defense on their heels.
- TCU's two defense ends Devonte Fields and Stansy MAponga are stellar. Fields is a beast that must be respected - he had a nice pick from Collin Klein in the K-State game....
- I'm looking for Malcolm Brown to run the ball well tomorrow. J. Gray is the BMOC now but let's not forget about our bread and butter that is BROWN.
