Texas vs. Oklahoma State

perhaps, but we're currently sitting comfortably in 8th place out of 10 and our signature win over uconn (now 12-9) doesn't seem so good right now. we're looking pretty NIT-ish right now.
We will still be somewhere around #30-33 in the KenPom come tomorrow. Tanking might honestly be the best thing to get rid of Barnes, but it's going to take a serious tank job.

Look at the losses. 2 times to Oklahoma State, 1 to Kansas, 1 to Stanford, 1 to Iowa State. 1 to Baylor, 1 to Kentucky and 1 to OU. All these teams probably make the tournament. Texas hasn't lost to a bad team yet. Matter of fact every team we've lost to is in the KenPom top 30.

We also have pretty good wins against TCU, West Virginia, and Iowa.

It's going to take a serious tank job to not make the tournament. The resume record wise may not look good, but in terms of RPI we probably aren't even on the bubble yet.

Texas needs to fire Barnes NOW , let an interim coach finish the season...then hire a real basketball coach who can recruit offensive playmakers, and develop them. Don't even mention KD...He was one and done. Barnes would have coached him into a 3rd round NBA  draft pick had he stayed any longer...... LOL
Not going to happen.  Texas won't fire a coach mid-season.  At least not for bad play.

By-the-way, this is not the first team that Barnes has lost.

In other news, Kansas State suspended Foster and Harris tonight. Foster is K-State's best player. Bruce Weber said their suspension would likely be for another game (who happens to be us on Saturday). Kansas State's second best player, Nino Williams, isn't even 50 percent because of a knee injury. Kansas State is a mess right now.

These next 3 games might be do or die for Texas. K-State and Tech/TCU at home are 3 fairly easy games that are being gift wrapped to Barnes.

My goodness we only fell to #28 in the Kenpom. Barnes is gonna have to really eff this up to not make the tournament. This is what I said in non-conference, there really aren't bad RPI losses and only good RPI wins in the Big 12.

Granted, after about the top 10 teams the rest of the field is a mess.
