Texas vs Oklahoma State game thread

The Salukis are keeping it interesting against the Shockers. Another close game in Rocky Top. BTW, Go Meeeeechigan!

Texas should really think about going big IMO with Ridley, Lammert, Holmes, Taylor and Holland (with a nice scorer in Felix coming off the bench). Lammert and Holmes are versatile enough to hit jump shots/guard on the perimeter. Would create all types of mismatches in the favor of Texas IMO.

I am in New Orleans so I didn't catch much of the game But great win for the Longhorns. Took it to the Cowboys early and often. Now they have to protect home court this Saturday against West Virginia.

Kept hearing how the Cowboys were missing their top player, (not so) Smart! Did they even mention that J. Holmes was also missing for the Horns?

Never count out a Huggins coached team.
Even when he's hungover he can outcoach most teams.

Travis Ford's gameplan was to let Felix shoot. Defenders consistently backed off him.

The stats supported Ford -- on the season, Felix is shooting a poor 35% FG and 30% 3P (+ only 23% 3P in conference play)

But, on any given night ...... Last night Jevan went 9-of-14 overall (6-of-8 on 3P)

I am not a fan of what Barnes does here (letting your worst shooter take the most shots) but concede it worked vs. OSU.

I think it is going to be our downfall later.

One other note, nice to see Walker improving. I can see him snagging alot more minutes next year.

ps -- Barnes said Holmes is improving. He called the injury a "strain" and said he could be cleared for WVU

Great game for Texas last night. Other big news was San Diego State's 20 Game Win Streak being ended by Wyoming.

It is a longshot, but still possible ..... Pretty incredible we have a shot at this at this point in the season. My expectations for this team at the start of the season have already been exceeded.

Kansas 9-2

Texas 8-3

Oklahoma 7-4

KSU 7-4

WVU 7-5

They are saying Embiid needs to take some games off --

“Joel is beat up. He’s beat up,” Kansas head coach Bill Self said. “I’m not going to make an excuse for him because you have to perform.

But he’s going to need some time off. I don’t know how much time, but

he’s going to need some time off.”
Remaining games for KU --

Feb. 15 TCU

Feb. 18 at Texas Tech

Feb. 22 Texas

Feb. 24 Oklahoma

Mar. 01 at Oklahoma State

Mar. 05 Texas Tech

Mar. 08 at West Virginia

Agree with everything you said about Felix and Barnes game plan. It worked last night but relying so heavily on Felix hitting jumpers, is not a good strategy.
