*****TEXAS vs. OKLAHOMA STATE GAME THREAD*****

Here we go..fetal position on offense
Was at the game and didn't notice that we did this. Exactly when did we go into the fetal position on offense because I'm not seeing it from reviewing the play-by-play chart from the game and specifically the 4th quarter?

Texas last 3 posessions the play calls were too conservative. The offense had the ball around midfield and didnt seem to want to get in any position to kick a fg or keep the chains moving to eat more clock.imo

At times we absolutely imposed our will on both sides of the LOS. That was good to see. Ingram ran well, the offense looked sharp until we “lost interest”, the last three times we had the ball it seemed coaches and players felt the game was over and went hyper conservative and sloppy.

Our defense shut down their rushing offense and Wallace had 5 catches for 83 yards. That is impressive. A few nifty runs by Sanders was it. Our secondary looked better tonight than they have all year.

Good win
What is the evidence that the offense and coaches "felt the game was over and went hyper conservative" because the play-by-play chart doesn't support that "theory"?

While it may have looked that way, the play-by-chart doesn't support that theory.

Just guessing here, but it was against Illinois, who is coached by Lovie Smith, who is from Texas? lol

Okie, don't dokie this up. lol Nebraska was playing an also ran and gave up as much as they got. If I were Nebraska, I'd take the win and shut up about it.
Yea I was just impressed. Hadn’t seen a number that high in my time. And it happened to pop up while I was on this chat lol

We did have a pass in both those drives. We just didn't convert the short yardage plays we had. That has to get fixed over the next 2 weeks.

We gave them 2 fumbled punts that they parlayed into 14 points.  Otherwise it’s a fairly easy win over a really good
And regarding the fumbles,  Smith is an 18 year old kid with good hands and great speed with 100k+ a national tv audience watching him. His eyes were probably as big as dinner plates on this one, but he may never muff another.

As for Jones, that's that 110% defensive mentality. Don't let that ball get 1" closer to the goal line. Herman said he should have told him to stay clear of the ball unless it was an easy catch.

The really big thing, to me, was how the team handled it. They didn't get down and just did whatever it took to win. Awesome winning mentality.

^^^This

Not to mention one possession the Horns could have parlayed into points and run the clock.

At least they aren’t blaming someone not even relevant to the game such as Georgia! :D
This just in, Oklahoma State blames the University of Georgia for their latest loss to the Texas Longhorns. Coach Gundy stated, "If UGA had cared about that game the Texas Longhorns would not have had the confidence to beat the Pokes this year".  A lawsuit against Kirby Smart is in the works as we speak.
