*****Texas vs. Kansas State*****

The University of Texas has been regulated to playing football games at 11:00 am on ESPN 2 because we are no longer relevant as a football team. If we had this program moving in the right direction this game would have been played at night on one of the main broadcast station but no we are right their with Purdue, Central Michigan  and Kent State ... this is who we are folks so just breath that in.

Yep, Texas Football is officially a joke.....

I know things are dire when your support for the staff has waivered... I love Strong for the person he is but he has to go. He is a horrible HC. Who do you want?

One more thing.  I think the only way we can save this recruiting class is to hire a new coach, and the hire needs to be splashy.

Hook 'em!

Just wanted to thank the Hornsports community for giving me an outlet to keep my sanity on saturdays this season. Without you great people I would have already replaced 2 televisions, had an ER trip for

HBP, and possibly punched a few holes in my walls. Not really, but thanks for the comraderie and dumping ground for our frustrations. This season is already an afterthought, lets hope next season is kicked off with NEW leadership and a new direction. Hook em!

Me as well! Thank you all

I couldnt say it any better Mike.

The rest of the season? I'd be more interested in watching it if the team was coachless the rest of the way. Right now it's very hard to give a shit. Every day that Strong stays, Texas Football loses more of it's value.

Let me guess we dont win next week then win the next and everyone says give strong till the end of the season. Everyone is just as predictable as our administration.

We going no where

Painful to think that we have Bailor, TCU, WVU, and TxTEch still to play.
We could end up with no bowl game...again

Well. The players are young and WE are pouty fans. It seems like Malik was benched and I think it's deserving because he has been average at best this year. (I think he's out of position at Middle lb.). I could be reading into it but I don't think he "believes" anymore. I can make excuses for almost anything but when you lose the confidence of your team leader as a coach you are done. I love Charlie Strong but he has lost this team even if they won't admit it. Forget recruiting, feelings, ect... Just pull the plug on this experiment.

I guess Herman is a good coach, but we MUST get this next hire right. We have been horrible for 6 years.

Saban and Urban are the only for sure things.

BSD, I've thought about many coaches:

Petersen, I don't think he would be a good fit, even if he wanted to live in the Southwest.  He might fit with the alums, but I'm not sure he would fit with the team.

Saban, we've been down that road before.  He is still good, but he is going to run out of that energy pretty soon, and he cannot have the stamina that he once did.  And that is if he wanted to leave a place that is very comfortable for him.

Meyer, would probably be my pick, if he wanted to leave OSU.  However, he did say he lost the lockeroom when Charlie left for Louisville, so he would need a disciplinarian.  He must be very good at delegating.  He handled Florida and OSU, and they both get quite a lot of exposure.  I think he is pretty well-rounded.

Herman, hasn't been playing in the bigs for that long, but he has been successful.  He has recruited well for Houston, has relationships with Texas High School Coaches, and recruiting ties to Houston.  He has gotten a lot of press this year, so a lot of high school kids know his name and know he did something unheard of for Houston.  On the other hand, the Texas job has more exposure than Houston, and though he worked with Meyer, until you have walked in the shoes...

Jimbo, I don't want because I don't trust him.  Can't really put my finger on it.

Therefore, this is my very short list:

1)  Urban Meyer, a know commodity

2)  Tom Herman

That's it.  Pretty short list!

Hook 'em!

Jimbo is not going to leave because he has just gone through a divorce and he needs to be close to stay active in his childrens everyday lives which he stated he plans to do.   Myer will not leave OSU  as that is home ,  Saban will end his career at Alabama. Herman will be who we go after but I am still not sure he is the guy to get us to the promise land.  I some how feel like we are Tennessee after the Fulmer years.
