*****Texas vs. Cal Game Thread*****

I'm just telling y'all now... if Texas does not make adjustments defensively and soon, it's going to be a long year. Cal is a good offense, but Big 12 teams have much more talent. Texas got burned for 200+ yards tonight by a walk on. Let that sink in.

 
I could of burnt the secondary for 200 yards. It's not hard when your wide open because no one knows the play.

 
Davis Webb is an above average QB that looked like a Heisman contender tonight. This is a guy who threw 72 passes and LOST to SDSU. Texas' defense has ONE turnover all year. That's not going to help you win games.

 
2ND blown call in the big 12! It was most certaintly a Horsesh*@ call but our horns should have never let it get that close. I was afraid our dreaded secondary would show itself once again.Thought it was going to be a good evening after watching ohio st put a thumping on the sooners. Now all that doesnt matter. Will be back to the same bs sooner fans running there mouths here in oklahoma on monday morning. Better pull our head out on this bye week or Mason Rudolph will throw for 600 on us. And ill be there first hand to witness it. Hook EM

 
I've had enough of Strong. The guy has to go. And he can take Bedford with him. The best thing he's done since he's been here is getting Gilbert. He has had 3 years now to fix this program, and it's still a laughing stock program. One win to OU (last season) and ND (this season) isn't going to outdo all the garbage and embarrassment. 

You can make all the excuses in the world for the defense being young, but they are not being coached properly. Fundamentals are lacking. Communication is lacking. In game adjustments are lacking. This defense is Manny Diaz level bad. And it's not due to talent. There's enough talent on this defense to be the best defense in the big 12 by a wide margin. 

It makes me sick that we've waited almost 6 years now since our last championship game appearance and we're still same dumpster fire that we were in 2010. Nothing has changed. We've gotten plenty of recruits, and yes a lot of them are still young but they have to be developed properly so that your team can build on being a contender for that elusive college football playoff. I just don't see it happening under Strong. I've given him all the patience I have. We have to start looking elsewhere after this season for another coach. 

I'm not sure which coaches would be interested in this job. Everyone has an obvious name -- Herman. I'm not so sure he'd come here even with people proclaiming that it's his 'dream job'. I like a guy like Mark Danonio. Even Les Miles would be someone I'd be on board with. He'd probably change the landscape of the entire Big 12 with all the defensive recruits he'd bring in. 

I am done with this regime though. I have lost all faith. This has nothing to do with just this game, but the overall development of this team from 3 years ago to now. The only progress I've seen is hiring a competent OC and possibly having found a good young QB. I know Charlie didn't have much to work with when he got the job because Mack didn't leave him with much, but that doesn't excuse the type of season the Horns are going to have with this defense being this abysmal. 

So in the end, I want Charlie gone. Out of Austin. I don't care whether it happens tomorrow or at the end of the season. To me this season's already a waste anyway.

Charlies first year was his best defense.  Ranked in the top 20 I believe in multiple categories.  I saw great defensive game plans and execution in that year.   All with Mack's recruits.

Remember the defense carrying the team until they were flat out exhausted in the 4th?  Our offense couldn't even get a first down?  I do.

Wow, horns defense has so many issues right now..where do you start to fix this? Players or coaches? Scheme? Attitude?

This is exactly what i said. He looked like he was playing with a head injury. I dont care what you say about ethics and morals about this coaching staff.

If you look at the replay, the back of his head hit the turf. I thought for sure it might be a concussion. I was surprised when they said chest area and surprised when he came back in the game.

 I never want to be rude, but you are posting crap after a 2-1 start?  Please!  Also, this is the first time that I have seen you post.  You may have posted before, but this is the first time I have seen it, and I'm on here a lot.

To put it mildly, you are highly suspect, as are your intentions.  You are also irrational.

Attention Moderators:

We have a great community.  Posters like tawfiqmp above only distract from the discussion.  I don't know when he/she joined, but 'it' first posted this morning.

Why can't we have a two day moratorium on sign-ups with the clock starting sometime around game time?  Either that, or quick suspension of posting priv. for a suitable period.

The above listed poster is a poser.  Not bright enough for a UT grad, pretty obvious.
