Updated: Texas Tech could cancel game on Longhorn Network | CollegeFootballTalk
Tech was apparently approached last year by ESPN about airing the game on LHN and refused. The WAC, who has control over this as the parent of Texas State for this year, agreed to put the game on LHN because:
1. The WAC recognizes the LHN as an official ESPN platform
2. The LHN has already agreed to air all 6 UTSA home games this season.
So Tech responded by saying they will cancel the game, pay a buyout, and only play 11 games this year. Updated info this morning is the LHN will NOT pursue airing the game.
Tech fans all all in a lather over it, and though I understand the premise, they need to remember they are Texas Tech. No one cares about Texas Tech. Texas Tech sits at the kids table.
