nice piece matt although i don't think anybody intends to do a 'disservice to the team' when talking about ash's importance.i think he's that important and the dropoff so pronounced his healt and effectiveness is critical.

Funny that in the past Espinosa constantly was called out as a weak link on the OL, now he is the unquestioned leader of the OL. Good for him with his progress and four years as a starter.

Great article. To me it seems that the ball control style of offense that we are going to run is much more conducive to maintaining a healthy quarterback. With fewer drop back passes and relying more on the running game, it should keep Ash from constantly being on the run in the backfield.

I agree that nobody intends to do so. My (poorly worded) point was that by focusing, almost exclusively, on Ash that they're doing so unintentionally.

Espinosa is still challenged by physically dominant players, but his value in other areas outweighs that deficiency....it also helps to have Flowers & Perkins to either side.
