I have heard from several of the players, specifically the offensive line, that they come out and play harder for Case than they do for David because he is one of their 'boys' -- a product of him hanging out with them on the weekends, gettin' f##ked up at SAE late nights, etc. This is the culture that Mack Brown has allowed to enter his team and locker room and why this team underperforms every opportunity they get. Great coaches don't accept mediocrity from specific units just because they don't like what one of their quarterbacks does with his free time (David Ash in this situation -- doesn't drink, doesn't go to fraternity parties, has involved himself in College YoungLife at UT). Play hard because you want to win, not because you think it's lame he doesn't blackout after the games.

One thing is for sure, down in Tuscaloosa, Saban's boys aren't worried about who they are compatible with or who they are "friends with". They get over it and win championships. Saban is going to change the entire culture down here in Austin and the players better be prepared for the makeover.

...well, i for one would not categorize this as "texas culture". it seems to me, that this is more of this current team's "hidden agenda" (should this profound account be proven).

should this account be proven accurate.... then a "house" cleaning is in order... HOOK'EM!

Ash does go to parties, he just doesn't indulge in some of the activities, my sons have told me how some of our upperclassmen think that their names entitle them to preferential treatment.

Others things I won't post because it serves no purpose.

Sounds like we have more problems than I thought we did.

We need a new coach to come in and start cracking skulls!

Yeah, not something that we will be able to prove in practice, but I can guarantee you I have heard that directly via several of the players. I trust Patterson to hire someone to fix the program inside and out -- now we just wait.

yep. Texas should throw out some trash. Who recruited these guys? Who have been coaching them? And who hired the coaches? We know the answers. The real question is whether Texas is capable of making timely, smart decisions.
