Vanderbilt is eliminated and Virginia is in the loser's bracket.

We might find out sooner than expected if we are interested in Corbin and O'Connor.

You can go ahead and scratch Corbin, I doubt they approach him and I hope he would stay with those boys.

They're #s 2 & 3 or 2 & 4, unless something has changed.  O'Sullivan is the #1 choice right now according to everything that I've heard.

On a separate note, what an awful week for Vanderbilt.  On Thursday, one day before Vandy was set to host their Regional in Tennessee, freshman pitching phenom Donny Everett drowned on a local lake in Tennessee.  He was with a couple of buddies, (rumored to be teammates,) and they initially thought Everett was joking around.  One of his buddies swam out to him and had a hold of him, but released him thinking he was still joking.  When he turned around, Everett had disappeared under water and did not come back up.

The team was to play on Friday afternoon, and Corbin took the team 100 miles to visit with the parents of Everett on Friday morning.  They came back to Nashville and their game went into a weather delay, eventually postponed until today.  They lost to #4 Xavier this morning 15-1, and dropped their second game to Washington tonight 9-8 after UW, trailing 8-2, scored 7 unanswered runs.

I cannot imagine what those kids had to go through to play in tonight's game.  Very sad deal.

I would wholly agree with this.  I think he has to stay there.

No doubt, I think O'Sullivan is the main target.

What is your opinion as to whether or not he would keep Skip as pitching coach?

Dallas Baptist up 4-0 over Tech. Sorry about that.

The neurons aren't firing today!

The real fun begins next weekend.

From everything that I have heard.. Skip Johnson will land somewhere else..

He has met with another AD already.. I also know that Clayton Kersahw is pushing hard for Skip Johnson to be the Dodgers Pitching Coach..

That would be an outstanding move for Skip. I know that I'm on record as saying I don't want him for this job, but I'm a such a huge fan of Skip. He deserves a better fate, but it didn't work out. That is a coach's life.

For those who are in the know, did Skip have total control over recruiting the pitching staff?  I would love to know as there seems to be some undertones regarding the fact that Skip deserves a better fate, making it seem as if I don't know the whole story of day to day decision making and recruiting of the pitching staff.

What everyone needs to keep in mind is that Augie had the final say on most everything.  Keep in mind, this is not saying that input from staffers was ignored, merely that Augie was ultimately in charge.

Yes, Skip had almost total control over recruiting the pitchers, Either Beau Ridgeway or Chase Shugart was Nicholson recruit.. all the others were Skips.
