Texas Baseball Coaching Search**Updated with David Pierce Hire**

I need a second non-source to non-confirm.

Anyway, in the f*** it division, i hate I have no interest in the NCAAs. When UT is playing I follow it like a hawk. When we're not I'm too annoyed to pay attention.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Kevin O'Sullivan's wife looking at houses on Lake Austin yesterday. I guess it's pretty serious.

Does anyone like this idiot Taylor? He claims that the TCU baseball job is a better one than Texas. I disagree of course and told him so.

Let's count how many targets have leveraged our interest in a raise thus far...

McDonnell

Schlossnagle

O'Sullivan

Chip at Scout saying we are after Pierce. I would actually like that hire and who I said Texas should hire back in March.

Bohls is saying we haven't even contacted Schloss or O'Sullivan.

A) Don't think Pierce is the best we can do. B ) Bohls, as per normal, don't know shit.

I agree with B. I bet we've contacted O'Sullivan. AAS is a joke.

I don't necessarily disagree with A, but I think Pierce would be a great hire. He worked miracles at SHSU and Tulane. He also has Texas connections.

I don't think Pierce is in the same group as O'Sullivan, O'Connor and Corbin simply because he hasn't had the opportunity to coach at a major program yet. Whether it's Texas or not, I bet Pierce eventually wins big somewhere.

1) every coach swears allegiance to his current job right up until he leaves

2) maybe FLA made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

3) maybe UT went a different direction and O'Sullivan ejected.

4) UT will end up with a good coach.

Don't close the book on O'Connor or Pat Casey.

True, none of this is really going to heat up until all these coaches are done in the tournament.

Granted, these two coaches are already done.

This is why I'm a Pierce fan.

1-Sam Houston State finished 65 in RPI in '07, 80 in RPI in '08, 70 in RPI in '09, 174 in RPI in '10, 81 in RPI in '11.

Sam Houston State finished 50 in RPI in '12, 39 in RPI in '13, 34 in RPI in '14. Those 3 years are when Pierce took over.

2-'09 Tulane 66 in RPI, '10 Tulane 88 in RPI, '11 Tulane 79 RPI, '12 Tulane 63 RPI, '13 Tulane 128 RPI, '14 Tulane 148 RPI.

'15 Tulane 49 RPI, '16 Tulane 33 RPI. Those two years are when Pierce took over.

That's two programs in a row Pierce took programs that were regressing (174, 81, 128, and 148 RPI) and turned them into top 50 RPI squads. All 5 years after he took over.

To make it clearer on what Pierce accomplished at Tulane/Sam Houston State.

The average RPI of Tulane 6 years prior to Pierce becoming the coach was 95.3. His average RPI in 2 years at Tulane is 41

The average RPI of Sam Houston State 6 years prior to Pierce becoming the coach was 114. His average RPI in 3 years at Sam Houston State was 41.

Ok I'm done on my Pierce rant.
