Texas is wearing road grays, burnt orange caps, belts & socks with black spikes.

Sports radio talking this afternoon about how SHSUs field looked superior to ours. I didn't see their field, but have to agree our brown painted fake dirt turf looks poor. The radio hosts point was at least try and match up the color with the actual dirt on the mound. Agree again, of course I'm still missing the lush grass field from DKR of yesteryear. I like watching games, especially when on TV, that have grass. Aesthetically pleasing and better for athletes joints.

A few notes:

*Disch has had turf since it was built. There has not been a grass surface for UT since Clark Field.

*While I am more of a purist and would love to see grass, I also see where turf has its benefits for UT. If I had my druthers, I'd at least have the areas around the bases/plate and warning track as dirt.

*Re: SHSU field turf vs DFF; SHSU went with a lighter color (clay/red/orange in my eyes) for their base paths, base areas, on deck and path to the plate. Their mound is dirt. Had we gone with that color, you would have people complaining about it. We went with dark brown to help with the black rubber surface filling from making the base areas of the turf look worn out. That is what happened with the old orange surface.

*Finally, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone is not going to be happy when changes are made.

Hey Joey, get off my lawn!😎

Patiently waiting for Bear's game report.

I think the mound there is actually a hybrid with the area from the rubber to the landing area is clay with the rest turf

It was a disaster for me. Sam was not ready for the UT crowd. All the reserve seats were gone. I got there an hour and a half before gametime and was only able to buy a general admission ticket. That turned out to be a standing room only ticket. I left after the top of the first. Watched the rest of it on ESPN3.

The crowd was about 3 to 1 UT versus Sam. In the Huntsville paper this morning they announced it as the largest crowd ever. Forget the exact number but I think it was about 2200.

For the UConn series, starters just announced:

Morgan Cooper-Friday

Kyle Johnston-Saturday

Blair Henley-Sunday

Sorry to hear that. Figured you'd be settled in right behind the on-deck circle.

I did not plan well. I have a friend who works for Sam who could've got me in anywhere I wanted. But it slipped up on me and I couldn't reach him on the day of the game. My bad.
