It's a loss, I don't like losing nor am I into moral victories however I believe I'm seeing a young team getting better. What killed the Horns tonight were their TO's and most were not from the PG position but rather from Jarrett Allen. Maybe I'm delusional or looking through Burnt Orange glasses but a couple of plays here or there and the Horns could have walked away with a win in a hard place for Big XII teams not named Kansas to win.

Next up for the Horns, TCU comes to town next Wednesday. Have to protect the home court!

You know what would help a little with protecting the home court?  Having the lower level filled up for a conference game.

I know, I know.... team isn't very good; chicken vs egg.  But the Longhorn fan base does not really care all that much about basketball.  7-8.... is anybody out there?

The support and attendance is horrible for basketball games.
It makes me blush when the camera accidentally catches the arena in the background during a game.  I imagine this makes it very difficult to attract top talent to play basketball at Texas.

Exactly. This is one of the biggest reasons I wish they would build a smaller arena that has a better chance of filling up. Frank Erwin Center is way too big for the purposes of UT basketball. I had hopes with the new arena, but it sounds like they're going to build something in the same range of size and capacity. An arena with a capacity of 10,000 would be more than adequate.

Agree.... I suggested a 9,000 seat arena on a different thread and will stick to that.  I also mentioned not selling so many lower level season tickets to alumni / corporate America.... or whoever it is that rarely show up and when they do, do so in the middle of the first half.  Get more students down there somehow.

Building an arena the same size as the one that currently resembles a tomb on game day kind of fits the definition of insanity.

Sounds good to me. I think a good compromise would be to give students the first however many rows on both baselines and one of the sides, and give the other side to the alums, donors, and whoever else you have to appease. Just make sure that non-student side doesn't end up on the majority of broadcasts.

That said, students have to show up under that scenario. Based on what I've seen this season, in past seasons, and some of the football home games, that is asking a lot. Sad but true.
