Terry Saban speaks: Nick Saban NOT going to Texas

that's hilarious. I know for a fact..from a friend.that says it all. There's not much money in placing a bet that he stays.and I'm pretty sure your friend is wrong. Actual news organizations would pick up the story if it were true. Sorry that evidence is required to get me to think Saban is 100%. There also wouldn't be conflicting reports as to who the next coach is.
Why are you so angry? The rumors and assertions will be proven out soon. You look silly and frankly either appear as a troll or a current employee in the Texas athletic dept who is about to be fired.

Depressing............this yoyo situation ................any good news
orangeflow, it's not depressing at all...it's actually the best news possible. Guys like McPhaul among others including myself have been saying for awhile now that REAL news was going to begin drying up after the Patterson hiring. It's going to stay that way until we get to the point everyone is ready to go public with the Saban hiring announcement. The only real news that's going to occur between now and then will be Mack announcing his retirement, a bunch of Bellmont people being let go, and possibly some residual Bev Kearney scandal headlines. The less news about Saban and Texas between now and mid-January in the mainstream media the better.

There seems to be a lot of calculation around this article. You have the staying quote but she also isn't really being truthful about not visiting Austin as more than a few people know she has house hunted at least once. Likely 2x. It's been reported deloss dodds even has mentioned knowing about the sabans house hunting in Austin during at least one function where sources heard him say this.

Then throw in the bama dissatisfaction comments which is shocking to me she would even include. I think there is a motivation behind leaking that out. You start laying groundwork on that angle enough and it makes it easier to say goodbye eventually

Actual news organizations did pick it up. Do you even live on earth? And, I'm positive my friend knows what he is talking about. I will say it again very slowly for you: I have no idea if Saban will come here. Got that part? But, his agent has been in conversation with some big $ guys as has been reported regarding Hicks, etc.

Or they meant what they said and it's time to move on

orangeman, you're right about the intent of the article.....this is the Saban's telling the national media to "move on" from this story so Nick can focus on what he cares about at the moment...which is winning his 3rd consecutive MNC. Once that's done the Saban's will move on and this article will be long since forgotten...and the whole sports media world will be focused on addressing the question of why did Nick make the move to Texas. This will be the total focus of his introductory press conference. By then, I'm sure we'll have a laundry list of reasons cooked up for him to feed reporters ranging from an opportunity to make history at Texas while putting us back on top...etc.

Lol.someones got quite the imagination. I wish he comes here but there's nothing beyond rumors saying that he is or much less interested.

While I certainly hope what you say is true, that would make an announcement at least a month away (provided Bama beats Auburn and Mizzou) from the NCG, and that's just a month away from NSD. While I'm sure the new recruits would be almost more excited to play for Saban at Texas than to make pornos with the homecoming queen, it will put us in a time crunch for reaching out to those last few 5 stars that he may be able to sway. Has there been, or expected to be, any contact between the potential sways with Bama and Texas within the next couple weeks?

As per his contract, he will not be able to recruit players from Alabama(that are committed) if he chose to leave. It would also be highly unlikely he leaves the talent behind especially when he can finish with perhaps one of the best recruiting classes ever this year.

Let's pretend saban was absolutely staying at Alabama. Why would it make sense for terry saban to come out now before the Texas job is even "technically" open and drive a stake through their negotiation position for some huge raise that was supposed to be aided by possibly going to Texas and letting that play out

Or let's pretend they are leaving. What better way would there be for them to push back the Texas story and give themselves cover to operate during the rest of the hear and through a BCS title game? All while letting enough slip to lay the groundwork for a bama breakup

Down the line (dissatisfaction about their situation ) and groundwork to later explain her trips to Austin as he has a history of "scouting "

I know which one makes more sense

it is quite obvious that you and baghorn are polar opposites on this subject. Let's wait 6-8 weeks and see who is right. For what it is worth, I have been in the camp that Saban to Texas is a strong possibility. Ms. Saban's article is interesting to say the least. I am not quite sure why she would call out the Bama fans expectations in article. Interesting.

I believe I will.
thanks McPhaul. PS - I have been on OB for over 11 years and IT the last year. I always look for your thoughts on both and am here because of you.
