Best tequila out there? Patron is good by I prefer 1800 silver - chilled. Better bargain too. Anyone else?

My family comes from the region that makes Tequila and let me tell you patron is extremely overrated!

It will be my next purchase. No worm, right? LOL.
Especially the tequila from Poltergeist 2

Was down in Puerto Vallarta in the hills where they made "Night of the Iguana", ran across all different flavors of tequila...

Patron has sucked since Paul Mitchell (yes, the hair care guy) bought it. It is now mass manufactured and rides on it's old reputation. Absolutely overpriced, but lots of people still insist on it, so the advertising/marketing money is paying good dividends.

Find Riazul Anejo for a fabulous bottle of Tequila. Find Fina Estampa, Silver, Reposado, or Anejo. Or hell, if you really want to know what Patron used to be like, find a Tequila called Siete Leguas. That is what is now made by the man who made Patron back when it deserved its reputation.

I have heard about Siete Leguas but it is really tough to find. The gentleman at the Liquor store says they go pretty quick. How much is a bottle of this stuff?

I really like Partida, but to be honest, Herradura Silver is a very solid tequila for margaritas. There are a ton of good tequilas these days. Just stay away from Patron and always get 100% agave.

Siete Leguas is available at many of the larger Spec's stores, and is priced around $50. A little less for Silver, more for Reposado and Anejo.

But seriously, for the same $50, get a bottle of the Riazul Anejo. It is aged in Cognac barrels and it will absolutely give you a new perspective about what sipping Tequila can be.
