I like our defense vs their offense.  Key is Swoopes and the overall teams performance in the 2nd half.

That really sticks out to me is the TCU offense is ranked No.11 in explosive offensive plays but, No. 115 in methodical offensive drives.

If Swoopes is on, I'm starting to feel like we have a chance.

The key will be our ability to stop the big play, make sound open field tackles. It's the "yards after catch" that TCU has been so effective with this season that's upped their number of big plays.

IMO, however, the most intriguing match up of the night will be the TCU defense against our offense. Patterson has done well in the past preparing for Mack Brown teams. It will be interesting to see how he fares against Strong/Watson/Wickline.

Defense has won this game for TCU in the past. I think defense will win this one for UT.

IMO, we've gotta play TCU's Boykin like LSU played Johnny Clipboard.

Make Boykin beat us from the pocket and sustain drives!  I know it's easier said than done, but that's gotta be our approach.  Maybe have Hicks "spy" him, too.

I like our chances if we can force a turnover or two and keep our running game going.

I am copying a post from a poster named "Ancient Orange" on another site. He posted this today and I felt it was deserving of passing around.

Sunday marks the 122nd birthday of Longhorn football. It all started on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 30th, 1893 against the Dallas Football Club. Interesting to note that Notre Dame was a Turkey day guest of UT in 1913 & 1915. In addition to the many games with aggy, Texas has hosted Arkansas twice and TCU will be making its second holiday visit Thursday. Of course Texas tech was last year's guest. Other lesser known Thanksgiving opposition include San Antonio University , Dallas U and Fort Worth U along with Wabash. Here's hoping the Longhorns celebrate their birthday with a win over TCU! Hook Em' & pass the turkey.

I like what you say, Darrell, but I disagree about Swoopes.  He just has to manage the game, IMO.

Considering that TCU is ranked so high in explosive plays, it goes without saying that our defense has to shut these kinds of plays down.

But I think the key to us winning is our OL and our running game.  We have to run on TCU and we have to grind out yardage.  This wears their defense down and crushes their will to resist.  Completed passes are just frosting on the cake.  Don't forget that TCU has a good pass defense as well.

There are a lot of important keys to this game but I agree with Doc - it starts with the OL.  If the OL plays like they have the last couple of games, the Horns should have success running the ball.  To beat TCU they must establish the run.... the Horns cannot beat the toads with only a passing attack.

Hook 'Em and BEAT THE HELL OUTTA TCU!!

I dont think the media is giving the horns much of a chance. I think we will pull it out considering how well we have played recently.

Baylors Petty said the Horns defense was the first defense that really kept confusing him.  Thats saying alot considering hes been around for like 6 years and is one of the best QBs in the nation.

I put my faith in Vance and Strong. I really believe we shock the nation and win this one

Hey Doc,

Well, we didn't get to QB or OL play but, in the end, the TO's did us in.
