NCAA granted him a hardship waiver and that’s good news for Bru McCoy. We already felt like things would go Texas’ way, but this pretty much seals it IMO. If Martell is getting a waiver then pretty much everyone else will as well.

That's true, however they do understand money. It can only help college football for players like Justin Fields, Martell and Bru to play than sit out a year. Bru has already been listed as one of the most exciting players for 2019. 

It would also look bad since Kliff in some reports lied to Bru and then left three days after Bru signed. It will also bring attention to the fact that a coach can sign with a school  and leave a month later with a small buy out while a player in the same situation has to sit out a year. I would think and hope that would get national attention and I hope Bru and UT would fight it.
