SignUp Now!Right now, it looks to me like they should keep Coach O but for some reason I don't think Haden does it.Does he still get job at USC?
Couldn't agree with you more.Winning some games as an interim coach does not include all the year around responsibilities of being a head coach.
Ed Orgeron failed miserably at Ole Miss.
IMO, USC cannot afford to gamble on him beyond this season.
Go on...orgeron is shady as they come...USC asking him to stay after what they just went through is not a good thing
Maybe you can expand on this? I don't see the similarities, except for the OC taking over the reigns. Applewhite actually played here and is an alum, Oregeron went to Northwestern. Maybe you are meaning the off the field issues, but let's be fair - Applewhite screwed a coed after a bowl game, Oregeron beat a woman. These are not in the same neighborhood.USC hiring Oregeron would be like Texas handing things over to Applewhite.
The meaning that both USC and Texas should expect to get better candidates than Oregeron or Applewhite to hire.Maybe you can expand on this? I know I sound like an Applewhite apologist, that's not my intent I don't condone cheating, but I just want to understand the context of your comment.
As for Sumlin, I think the Oregeron has gotten his current players to play for him - probably because anybody was an upgrade from Kiffen - but I don't know that he could recruit and run a successful program at USC. I think Sumlin is the way for them to go and kinda hope it works out for him because you know CS can't be an easy town for his family to live in.
Ok, I get and agree with thatThe meaning that both USC and Texas should expect to get better candidates than Oregeron or Applewhite to hire.
Agree Sumlin's their best option. But make no mistake, Ed O is an excellent recruiter ("nat'l recruiter of the year in '04). Remember all those top classes USC was pulling in under Carrol up to '05, then later under Kiffin?Maybe you can expand on this? I don't see the similarities, except for the OC taking over the reigns.
