Strong Wednesday Presser

In my opinion the whole idea of this message board was for people to share what they know or what they think they know. Without retribution.
People need to cool it on SHA. He's simply sharing what he's hearing. That said, I don't blame people for being sensitive after the 100% remark made by another poster a few years back.

Like I said, he's not going anywhere or being accommodated...

Texas interim AD Perrin tells local radio he's talked to Charlie Strong who is "staying here. You can go to the bank on that." #hookem

I don't think it's vague at all, at least not what I've said. I think you have that problem confused with posters who just want to know more than I'm able to tell them. If you're expecting a complete and tidy story that answers all questions, then you're causing your own misery.

But since you bring up this "be prepared for disagreement" . . . exactly how are you going to attempt to disagree with someone being told something? I mean, if you're going to criticize me for passing something along from someone who really doesn't know anything, how then are you jumping right out there to clear everything up or make other determinations/conclusions? Do you have a source as well?

I felt badly last year when things did not work out as I had reported regarding Saban. I felt bad because it made me look like a liar. Anyone who knows me knows that is something tough for me to live with. But several credible sources have published the Saban story since then, relieving me of that burden to some extent.

So it's not necessarily about "think they know more than they know" as the Saban thing obviously proves false. It's that the time span between something happening and it appearing on this board is sometimes longer than one would think. And with human beings, as the Saban thing showed us, change their minds either by whim or by calculated decision, or not at all. So yes, even good, solid insider info has the potential to end up being different than reported in the end. And it also has the potential to be dead-on.

I think it would be beneficial to myself if I just stopped doing this. I thought it would provide interest for the board and good stuff to talk about. It seems to be causing more bad stuff than good stuff.
I appreciate the inside info that you share whether I like the info provided or not (the CS info qualifies as info I don't like) and whether or not something comes of it.  Disagreeing with someone's opinion is one thing, disagreeing with info that they pass on from a discussion that you were not part if is ridiculous.

You had/have no reason to feel bad about the info you provided on Saban.  Anyone who's been in a professional environment should know that any info you get, inside or not, is only good until it's not.  This is especially true when the subject is employment and large amounts of money are involved.  You posted info that you felt was credible from sources with inside knowledge of the program and, based on the stories that have been printed since, were pretty spot on.  You didn't make or break the deal with Saban, all you did was pass on what you'd heard and then got slammed because the trolls and the I-Told-You-So!! crowd needed a scapegoat and/or the chance to mouth off behind the anonymity of the internet.  It's not your fault that what you were told didn't pan out, like I said info's only good until it's not.  Anyone who'd hold that against you or attack you for posting's an idiot.
