Some 2017 recruiting quick hits

We will have more in Burnt ends but I wanted to pass along some notes from a couple of big time 2017 prospects.

Texas extended an offer to 2017 Bellaire Episcopal OL Walker Little tonight.

Little is a big time prospect in every sense. The 6'7 OT is teammates with Marvin Wilson who is a monster at DT. Little got the offer (his first) from Joe Wickline and was very excited about it. "I've loved it every time I visited" Walker said when asked about Texas. "Great coaches and a great campus".

Little told me he and Wilson (who is high on Texas himself) haven't talked much about playing together, but now that he has a Texas offer he is sure that talk will heat up. Little plans to camp at Texas this summer. He will be one to watch for sure in the next year.

Wylie RB Eno Benjamin got a visit from Jay Norvell this week.

Benjamin only got to talk to Norvell for a bit, but he had some great things to say about Texas.

"Coach Strong is going to turn this program back into something great. He set a great example by releasing some players last season. That shows how serious he is. I like that Texas knows how to put players into the NFL".

Benjamin doesn't have a Texas offer yet, but he is certainly a player of interest.

2017 Westlake QB Sam Ehlinger is another prospect on the Texas radar.

Ehlinger got a visit from Shawn Watson this week and said Watson writes him one note per week. The local product grew up a Texas fan and has the horns in his top 5. He told me he plans to camp at Texas this summer. Ehlinger will compete with Shawn Robinson for the top QB in the state, and has an impressive skillset. Mark him down as a name to remember.

No clue I know they were at Refugio to see jaylon mascorro and were in the valley earlier in the week to see Trevor speights

The Edinburg Bobcats coach tweeted that Coach Bedford was recruiting in the valley. Not sure who they were looking at as Speights is in McAllen, but could've been anybody I guess.
