I dont have an issue with paying a few bucks for some premium content.  I think the staff will deliver, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed the message board has basically gone pay as well.  I really liked the community here this last season and it offered something OB and IT were not.  Not saying it still wont, but I get the idea several good posters that have been posting here for free the past year are now turned off by the pay idea.  Some have posted so on the site, and posted elsewhere they prob would not subscribe as weren't looking to go down the pay route 

I cant blame the owners for wanting to capitalize on what they have here, but I'd seriously consider leaving the regular message board free until this place is really humming with big traffic and established poster base

my understanding is that things are going to change, but it may take a bit of time.  i think the views of some on this thread are unduly harsh and i hope you'll give it some time to let them sort this out.  they've gotten A LOT of input in the last day or so and understand the issues.  they are working to resolve them.  please be patient with them. 

sean and matt are quality writers.  i personally think matt is the best writer TOS ever had but he's been out of the game for a few years since his surgery.  his writing skills haven't diminished, i promise you.

They aren't slams. They are point blank observations from a long time member. If you think I'm the only one, you are mistaken bud. The new regime (not you in any way, shape or form) isn't gonna be a good thing, for anyone. There "connections" already made them pretty much look like fools during the coaching search, now they apparently want to get paid for some reason for rehashed info.

The donation box that was suggested (DTX) would've been more successful than the current plan. Good luck Aaron. I really do wish you well.

UTK66 and a few others are correct, I was here very early on but I am failing to see the justification for $4.99 a month. If I am in that boat, I can't imagine new subscribers. You guys should take a look into the 24/7 model as far as VIP and non-VIP related post, they leave a lot more meat for a new user to see and get a feel for the website before actually subscribing. Bingo. Looks like it's about time for me to check out. The influx of a certain group has taken away the uniqueness of this board. It was started with great intentions but unfortunately it was over run with some that are looking for personal gains.

I received an e-mail last night from Horn Sports, one I'm assuming was also sent to other posters, assuring me that efforts would be made to streamline conversations between Premium and Non-Premium users. In other words, our staff is bending to the consumer to make the consumer's life easier and grant them more access to this community. That's about the best customer service action you could possibly ask for.

First off, wanted to let the staff know I really like the new format, it looks very professional. I'll admit I was a little disappointed that HS went premium, but $5/ month is a drop in the bucket compared to some of the other sites and what you have to deal with. For me, the member base alone, is worth paying the extra $5. I've seen some of the crap that goes on at other sites and IMO it's just not worth dealing with the immaturity. Love the content and information here, keep it rolling! Oh, and Hook 'em!

Also, other posters are correct....Hornsports is working on adapting the new platform based on input from members. Changing permissions and code doesn't happen overnight. Thanks for your patience.

I can understand premium content being pay only. However when a paying member such as myself starts a generally worthless thread nonpaying members should be able to read and respond to it. Doubt anything I have to say is worth $4.99 a month.

Bear--just monitoring and moderating your baseball jinx threads is a full time job for somebody.  5 bucks a month is easily worth paying to help the baseball team recover from the jinx threads.

I, too, am disappointed in how this migration to pay site has taken place, I'm glad that you are not remaining stagnant and are wanting to improve your content. I have come here several times per day to lurk since last summer and enjoy the respect and the insight of most of the posters, it's a far cry from much of the rabble out there. While I can understand the desire to be compensated for the tremendous work that you all are doing, I can't help but to be frustrated that a site that I have so thoroughly enjoyed is now useless to me simply because at this time I cannot justify $5/mo for a horns fix. I kinda feel like I'm back in college when friends I came in with dispersed among various fraternities. The difference is I wasn't cut off from them by a sea of orange and green boxes. Best of luck!
