"Silence at Baylor"

WOW. Briles is caught in a lie right there.

Agree with that. And what do we do about the enablers like Briles and probably Bennett?
Legally - probably nothing.  But, at the least, they all should be canned and publically disgraced.  Sometimes that is worse than jail time.

Baylor should fire his sorry ass. They will probably suspend him for the SMU game.

Chris Petersen: I told Art Briles about Baylor DE Ukwuachu's past

Friday morning, Baylor coach Art Briles addressed the dismissal of Sam Ukwuachu after he was found guilty in a sexual assault case from 2013. Briles defended the program's handling of the Ukwuachu situation as well as allowing him to transfer in from Boise State initially.

Briles insisted that he was not aware of Ukwuachu's history -- he was accused of abusing his girlfriend while at Boise State. Briles cited a conversation with then Boise State coach Chris Petersen and said it never came up.

"I talked with Chris Petersen personally," said Briles to reporters on Friday morning. "No mention of anything beyond Sam being depressed, needing to come home."

Petersen, now at Washington, released a statement of his own on Friday afternoon contradicting Briles. Peterson stated that he let Briles know everything about Ukwuachu.

"After Sam Ukwuachu was dismissed from the Boise State football program and expressed interest in transferring to Baylor, I initiated a call with coach Art Briles," said Petersen in a statement. "In that conversation, I thoroughly apprised Coach Briles of the circumstances surrounding Sam's disciplinary record and dismissal."

Briles has been emphatic in denying that he was made aware of Ukwuachu's history of violence. When pressed about a report from Texas Monthly that the coaching staff knew of Ukwuachu's past, Briles was defiant.

"No, no. That's not true. No," said Briles. "Lord, no. There's no truth to that. Find out who informed us and talk to him. Please."

Now Petersen is claiming he was the one who informed the Baylor coach.

Some people wanted Art Briles to be our head coach. Patterson, who I am not a big fan of, is looking pretty good now by not going after Art you must admit.

This is stain on BU, this is really UGLY.  If that woman was my daughter or a family relative I'd sue their asses off.

This Baylor scandal is as deeply disgusting and nefarious as the murder scandal of that basketball player a few years ago.

So, we know how the Judge sentenced Ukwachu... very lightly IMHO.

So, how will the Baylor Cigar Chompers handle / sentence Briles for his role in this horribly sordid affair?

Briles knew everything, he took the risk, he lost big time, time to pay the price IMHO.

It's for sure a major stain on BU. As bad, IMO, as Bliss and that fiasco.

The tragic thing here is the sentence. What a powerfully discouraging message being to sent to rape victims everywhere. Pour your soul out in the courtroom and go through it all over again – to find a judge putting the monster right back on the street.

She's now going to live in fear of her life as long as that guy is walking around in society. Thanks Baylor. Thanks judge.

Judge should be throat punched, IMO.

Sentenced to 6 months. Jury wanted 8 years, but the judge gave him 6 months.

Guess what, the judge is Baylor grad and came from a Baylor family.

I'm sick.
