SignUp Now!Well, we certainly have a nice contrast between Charlie and art to compare the two styles, don't we?No, Charlie should be a football coach.
I agree society can benefit from it. And sadly, not all family units have the moral guidance and when kids get to college they want to get away from parental guidance and make choices in the heat of the moment. I remember being so excited being on my own and probably could have made better choices.IMO, no, a football coach should not be a moral authority. That guidance should come from the family unit.
But in 2015, the world is looking to public figures on issues of right/wrong. In that sense, Charlie Strong has a firmly entrenched set of convictions that I, personally, think society can benefit from.
I have to go with Slim here. The coach has to be one, and Charlie is.Well, we certainly have a nice contrast between Charlie and art to compare the two styles, don't we?
Given the choice, so far I'll take Charlie.
I get what you're saying, but I think a coach has to be both an authority figure AND a coach. If he's just a coach it's too easy to dive to the bottom and become the lowest common denominator. I haven't had enough time to evaluate him as a coach yet, nor has anyone else, but I have had enough time to decide that I like his style as a moral authority. In two or three years I (or we) will decide if he's accomplishing his task as a coach.
SEC does not turn away scum.FSU will benefit from SEC and Big 12 turning away scum.
I suppose that is why the SEC has the most arrests out of every NCAA conference? Sigh.FSU will benefit from SEC and Big 12 turning away scum.
