**Season Series Finale: Texas Baseball vs Kansas Weekend Thread**

What expectations do you think I have posted? Because I haven't and don't. Being upset or disappointed maybe, but that's your assumption. We had that discussion before.

Do you not think we couldn't, shouldn't have won more games this year?

While, I doubt that Sean Allen is gone after this season depending upon where and how the season ends and what happens during the offseason. He has lots of work to do with these young pitchers! The consistency of throwing strikes by the guys is a problem. A problem that leads to umps narrowing their strike zone? Maybe.  Furthermore, I'm  not just looking at this year,  but the next few years where several vets are gone after this year.
"Glad to get to 39 wins, but we should've been closer to 50 or more wins if we are truly being honest."

50 regular season wins was your expectation apparently.

I do think we should have won more games this year and I do think the poor pitching performance contributed to the majority of our losses. I also think that Sean Allen has to be accountable for that. I will also be paying attention to the pitching staff the next few years and assessing the job Coach Allen seems to be doing. I think the only thing we disagree on is calling for Coach Allen to be fired after one season of poor pitching performances.

So, you take an opinion as an expectation. Good to know.

I did learn something while looking into all this. In 1991 (I think this date is right) the NCAA limited college baseball seasons to 56 games. Prior to that, some teams, Texas included, were playing around 65 regular season games and then long post-seasons. Wichita State holds the record for most wins in a year at 74 (74-13). I also came across the Texas A&M 1989 season, started 40-1, finished the regular season 52-5, won the SWC tournament, won the first 3 games of their regional (6 teams in a regional at that time), only to go on to be beat in back to back games by LSU and fail to advance out of the regional.
