Ran across this today over on BC. Keep in mind this was written PRIOR to Heard's Junior year. And then think about how he probably was going to have a hard time seeing the field with Watson in charge.

Yeah, I remember that article. Just an amazing talent that seemed like it was destined to be wasted away. I am glad he has gotten the chance to shine and showed everyone what he can do when the lights come on.

He was one of those guys then when you watched his highlights it was easy to see how good he would be. He was one of those recruits that you didn't need to be a recruiting guru to see the talent Jerrod has.

Another good possibility is that he will be here for five years. The combination of his size and arm strength will probably keep him from being a high NFL draft pick.

I saw it when Heard was in HS and I've been saying for years to be on the watch for him. Man, even Stevie Wonder saw it!

Really makes you wonder about Watson. Based on this alone, he may never get another OC job. If you were a coach and watched the last 2 Texas games, would you trust or hire Watson for OC?

He may not, but I didn't think Manny Diaz would get another DC job after what happened at Texas.

To be honest though. I was shocked by the way Diaz's tenure at Texas went down. I haven't been by Watson's. There were concerns coming in about his offense.
