Saban spotted in Austin?

A poster on IT is stating his friend's wife saw Saban tonight at a sushi place in Austin. A different poster on OB is saying that a friend of his saw him there too. Not sure if it's the same person who saw him, but both said their friend was a girl. Not sure how many girls would recognize him in public (I would, but none of my female friends would I promise).

Who the heck knows; just something interesting to think about.

That's the strange part. None of the 2 (or 3) managed to sneak a pic. Could all be bogus. Just more smoke.

Suchomel said it's possible, but he was also in DC and Maryland today so who the heck knows.

Probably not him then. It's possible, but if he came to Austin and even the campus....on a school day, people would notice him.

I'm going down to campus tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out!

I'll burn my first post on this subject.

Saban was in the DC area doing in home visits with Jalen Tabor and DEshawn Hand in the Washington DC area. This evening he was doing an in home with Bama commit Christian Miller in South Carolina (per the Bama 247 site....handy my sub doesn't run out until 12/23 with all the Saban stuff going on).

Here is a quote from Jalen Tabor's mother on the in home visit:

Saban and Tide assistant Lance Thompson

were in-home with the Tabors on Thursday. The family will head down to

Tuscaloosa next weekend for Jalen's final official visit.

"It went well," stated Ms. Tabor. "Alabama kind of speaks for

itself. It went really well. We're excited about it. We talked about the

(official visit). We're really excited to get down there."

Rumors that Saban could end up at Texas continue to persist. What did the Tide head coach tell the Tabors on the subject?

"He said he will be he will be the head coach and is not going anywhere."

I would lean towards believing (heavily) that Saban was not in Austin, but as far as what he told recruits, doesn't he have to say that at this point regardless?

PDX, good to see you over here.

I do believe Saban is vetting the possibility of a move. I know McP has some good sources and I think it is obvious Jesus has some as well (although I don't know JS at all).

Hooked76, thx for posting.

With these public sightings, it is good to read the gossip but until someone gets a pic I will take it with a grain of salt. Many sightings without a picture in the 21st century just makes it a tough sell.

Maybe we can email him and ask him for a selfie. Hooked 76, you up for the task? I mean, it would be kind of creepy for the rest of us to ask him. :P

This guy's credibility will take a major hit telling all the top recruits he isn't leaving while recruiting them and then leave a few days later. He's 62 and he learned his lesson when leaving the dolphins. He isn't coming, yet. There is no job opening. This baseless assumptions that our program lacks institutional control and our boosters are making backroom deals should be very concerning since they are against NCAA bylaws.

His credibility would take no hit. In fact, if he told recruits the opposite or said no comment, then his credibility would take a hit because he wasn't doing his current job.

Lmao. With that type of reasoning anything is possible.
