What a big F**K YOU to Mack and Powers if Saban still somehow wound up at UT. I would love it!

SignUp Now!I would love that hire.I assumed when you said Jan 7, you meant National Championship game (Jan 6) and was hoping you were talking about GM.
Times they are a changing.....So what about all that stuff JS was saying awhile back that after Mackovic Texas would not go a minute w/o a HC once MB resigned or having one secured? I guess that was Saban huh?
So Mack's parting FU to the fan base stands. That's just swellOk, just spoke with my main guy. He hasn't spoken with anyone else yet but in his opinion - no way Saban will happen.
Just passing info along.
He is supposed to talk to his contact late this evening. So if I hear anything different, I'll post it.
Apparently, the chaos of last week was enough to convince him he wanted no part of Texas. He was extremely turned off.So Mack's parting FU to the fan base stands. That's just swell
Why are they talking now though?Apparently, the chaos of last week was enough to convince him he wanted no part of Texas. He was extremely turned off.
After waiting for things to come together for so long, and it looked as though they would, but a phone call to Saban (requested by Saban) after the meeting with Mack sealed the deal as far as Saban staying at Bama. Things did not go according to plan and that was the last straw.
if you can answer, Why the line drawn in the sand for last week. Seems with quiet period this week,it would have been a good time to do businessApparently, the chaos of last week was enough to convince him he wanted no part of Texas. He was extremely turned off.

Two guys I talk to say Texas is still speaking with Sexton. Texas as in a rep for the BMDs who were most favorable toward Saban to begin with. Why are they talking now though?
I see what your friend is doing and I like it. Spread the word!Ok, just spoke with my main guy. He hasn't spoken with anyone else yet but in his opinion - no way Saban will happen.

We were so incredibly close with Saban. However, the courtship had gone on for more than a year. During the last stretch, Saban was pretty much decided on coming. It came down to a phone call that Saban requested after the meeting with Mack. Mack flipped the situation upside down because Patterson/Powers though Mack was ready to hang it up and weren't prepared to force the matter. Further, Mack began talking about "If" he retired to then take a job with UT as a GM type.if you can answer, Why the line drawn in the sand for last week. I want to believe. Really want too. But your earlier comment made me realize I can see how anyone can be turned off by what happened on Friday. Two guys I talk to say Texas is still speaking with Sexton. Texas as in a rep for the BMDs who were most favorable toward Saban to begin with.
JS does not agree that Texas is still talking with Sexton and thinks the whole deal is dead.
Mack is gonna screw any chance we have at getting anyone halfway decent. FMLWe were so incredibly close with Saban. However, the courtship had gone on for more than a year. When that phone call happened, it was over. Saban had waited and UT looked like it was directionless when it counted. He decided it was better to stay put with what he knows.
So there really wasn't a line in the sand drawn. The combination of being fed up, discouraged by what he saw, and somewhat fearful of things blowing the hell up with Mack was enough to throw the train off the tracks, plus his request of Mack being out of the way was even in jeopardy.
Thanks, maybe there can be some rebuilding of bridgesWe were so incredibly close with Saban. However, the courtship had gone on for more than a year.
