Saban- Call Your Shot

If he doesn't like the terms, then he is negotiating with us. So you can't say he was never a serious option when he hasn't squashed any rumor, or signed an extension.
You're right. It's my opinion that he was never a serious option. Regardless, I say he's not coming and in the end whether it was ever really a consideration won't matter. Obviously, if he comes, I'm way off and will gladly own it.

McPhaul..... What about Powers? Here he doesn't want to appear emasculated? Here he is reluctantly willing to get rid of Mack, but STILL not willing to accept Saban...digging in his heels more than expected?

I worry about Powers and the Search Committee.

I worry about Mack dragging his feet too long and it affecting the outcome.

I want very badly for it to be Saban but I can't bring myself to call my shot.

I do believe that there are people trying every conceivable thing to make it happen and I applaud them.

I worry about where the search would turn if Saban does not say yes.

I'm going with no. Still can't see the sense in him leaving Bama. I do hope I'm very wrong though. Right now I just want to see Mack announce he's retiring.

I told you guys that I was told not to worry...............Welcome "Brother" Saban to the 40 Acres.

Mack should retire Sunday-no later than Monday because Saban wants to start his new Job ASAP

I can't see it now bud.
He doesn't have any leverage now.
He just played for a conference Championship game and had he "fixed" the defense earlier he could have played for much more. Call me Crabtree because I can see it in my head....what he is thinking.

I hope I am wrong but I don't see this ending well, or soon.

Naw, I say bring in a dark horse that can coach up the QB position. I think there's too much hype around Saban. If he doesn't bring us three national championships in a row, what then?

I think Saban will be the next coach here at Texas. Mack may not want to go but he will, reluctantly. He is losing both his OC and DC and they won't let him hire lame duck coaches to "fill" in for a year. Not that anyone good would anyway.

The way I understand it, the clock is ticking on Mack's ability to control the outcome. He'll announce by Monday-Tuesday or soon after an announcement might be made for him.

Time is of the essence in multiple ways.

I believe Saban is coming. The rumor mill from Bama produced nothing tangible outside a tweet from Cowherd which didn't materialize. Today I've learned that a contract extension doesn't really mean much on this end and works out rather well for Saban, especially if he doesn't take the Texas job.

So much of this makes sense in hindsight.
