**Running College Football Updates Thread**

The relegation league may be cool. Imagine a bunch of bowl games that normally no one would care about, but they are playing to move down or stay up in the league.
There are some interesting ideas here but the way it is presented here is highly unlikely to get serious consideration. Relegation in college football would be really interesting.

From a poster on another board:

Listening to the SoonerScoop post spring game wrap, you could definitely tell there is some frustration with Venables. They basically called him out for lying about why they didn't see some guys. They indicated they would rather him just not comment than lie to them. More good news is that Arnold still hasn't shown he can consistently perform. Only 50% completions, and almost all of his passing yards were to one guy. Looking like "OU sucks" may be truer than it's been since the 90s.

OU has avoided having many bad coaching transitions over the years. The Riley to Venables transitions hasn't looked good so far and if that continues into the SEC, it could really set them back.

I just think Venables was a horrible choice. He's a decent DC who had good defenses when he had elite talent. It's not quite a John Blake hire, but it's not far off. Blake could recruit, too.

I know OU had history with him, but that should've been the thing that made them pause on the hire.

That said, I hope they keep him for a while.
