**Running College Football Updates Thread**

If the new conferences were made up of peer schools with similar revenue values, then no butt hurt within the conference. As there is today, lesser conference members will be frustrated to not be in the big boy conference.

Being a head coach or even coordinator at a college program is an increasingly tough gig. So much more to worry about, do, because of the way the game is changing.

Let's face it. It's gonna be the big spenders and then everyone else. NCAA is toothless on this now. What we saw aggy do in 2022 is now going to be the norm. Just outright buying recruits.

This is not trending positively for the game, IMO. This is a plane/train/automobile that's going to crash with this trajectory.

I guess with 14 teams, only the top 2 get a bye. I don't like expanding the AQ spots. Sure have 1 per conference and one for the top G5 schools, but beyond that just take the highest ranked 9 teams that don't automatically qualify.

I also think 14 is an odd numbers. Why not make it 16. The top 2 teams would still have an advantage by playing the weakest 2 teams, but wouldn't get a potentially unfair benefit of an extra week off.

I'm not saying it's not trending to what you say, but from what we've seen (a&m), it's not something anyone can just do. To paraphrase Tony Montana, "First, you gotta have the money, then you get the power".

So, not too many schools can raise that kind of money for a prolong period of time (3-4 years?). Then you need the coaches that can handle the kids and keep them in line. Then you have to bring the whole team together and win. We've seen that Jimbo couldn't do it at atm. How many coaches could? I'm betting less than a handful. Maybe Saban could have done it, but we'll never know now.

Is it possible? Sure. But I think what we saw at a&m would be the norm if others tried to do it.

Well, we're also talking about aggy. They have a penchant for screwing things up. lol
