Well, at least it happened after NSD. Tough loss, but we'll have an entire recruiting cycle to get back in the mix on top DL talent.

Hate that Charlie's gonna have to replace Rumph, but since he has to, I hope he takes a look at Brick Haley at LSU.  Haley was a fine DL coach for LSU and a plus recruiter before the hatter replaced him with Orgeron.  He's an admin assistant or some such there now, but I'm betting he can't wait to get back into coaching.  Haley could give us a nice in to both Louisiana and Houston, since obviously he's recruited both areas successfully.

And according to Duvonte Lampkin he got off the phone with Charlie Strong and he said Rumph isn't leaving

I admit when I first read it was SI saying it, I believed it

It wasnt like it was coming from texags

SI is one of the few remaining legit sources in this part of journalism

I assumed they would have double or triple verified the claim he accepted the offer before they ran it

And, maybe they did, maybe Rumph accepted it verbally, but we beat the offer with a better counter before he signed with Gator?
