Died today at the age of 84 from natural causes.

Gifford is in the HOF.

Just looking at those guys brings back my favorite memory ever of watching MNF games...November of 1978, Big Earl's

rookie year...of course I'm referring to Oilers vs. Dolphins in the Astrodome...Earl rushed for 199 yards and scored 4 tds

that night...what a great night and football game that was!

He had a great voice and knew the game well.

His one weakness on air was how thin skinned he was about USC.  Dandy Don would kid him about something going on in LA and Frank would get almost livid.
