Thanks to Scott Hansen for his work on the list.

First - I want to thank Scott Hansen for taking the time to make this list for us. Scott is well versed in high school football in the state of Texas. He has many years on the road and a lot of film at his disposal.

Second - I like a good discussion. Some people on another board take it the wrong way. The fun in these lists are the fact we can debate them and there is no right or wrong answer.

Now, with that said, and I know you have to be expecting this debate considering your knowledge, what in your mind makes Desmon White a quarterback at a major college program? And how does he warrant a #13 ranking? Strengths? Weaknesses? How did you come to this conclusion?

I've watched him a few times over his career and once in 7on7. I did not come to the same conclusion, although I have not watched him live this 11on11 season. I hope to do so in the playoffs. Change my mind. Make me a believer.

Aaron, McPhaul, Shaun and I, along with others, are working behind the scenes to amp up the recruiting board on this site. It will take some time, so please be patient.

I am working on some scouting reports right now. Later down the road we are going to introduce some new content to the board. I would like everyone to piece together a Texas Top 50. There will be a recruiting game in the future witbh free prizes to the winners. The more participants, the bigger the prizes. We will play a lot of new content off of this game. It is all in good fun and will be from a different perspective than the other sites.

Again, thanks to Scott for the list.

The new recruiting board will be awesome. We will get it done.
I have an idea of a board, once the recruiting game is added, that will be different than the other recruiting boards. Looking at the message board you and Aaron built, I have complete confidence it will get built.

This is one of the best message board layouts imo.

Let's just make sure to keep it open to good discussion and varying opinions.

Scottstradamus is here. Good evening Mr. Cosell. Pleasure to meet you. Excited to be potentially working with you down the road.

Desmon White is one of the best high school football players I have seen in my entire life. When evaluating prospects for ranking purposes, statistical analysis is a key component. When TCU offered Desmon White, a Big 12 school that has done very well in recruiting the 2014 class, White justifies the article I wrote for Fuel Recruiting in July about White being the First Team All-State Preseason Quarterback in the state of Texas. I have seen nothing to change my opinion on that subject. White may be a Wildcat QB in certain situations in Fort Worth. But as a WR, PR, and KR, he is still a "pint-sized magician" and will make plays. If this were 1985, Nebraska and Oklahoma would have already offered White. Over 10 yards a carry against 5A competition in DFW, a tough non-conference schedule, and over 65 percent completions for almost 3,000 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just three picks. And highlight reel runs. And he can throw outside the hashes. He is the ONE talent at his size where you can throw that out, give him the ball, and let him make plays.

I appreciate the conversation on Desmon White. He has not had his best game yet. I still think he will have a playoff game for the ages.

I wish Texas would've taken a longer, harder look at Patrick Mahomes from Whitehouse. Dude put up some amazing numbers.

@UTK66

Absolutely. Heard is going to be a great player down the road. Mahomes may play baseball. Who knows? But Mahomes has a little Brett Favre in his game.

This is where I think the coaches have done there due diligence on Mahomes. He could very well be a Baseball draft casualty. Some MLB club is going to take a look at his pedigree and wonder if he has the same make up as his Dad...

I don't follow recruiting all that much. But I should since it is the lifes blood of college football. I was surprised to see so many quality recruits committing to A&M.

Hopefully, a new coach will have enough star power to change the minds of a few of the recruits (Saban anyone?).

You think his future is brighter in baseball or football?? I know he's excelling in both pretty dang well.

I think Mahomes future is going to be baseball, but man..he is one hell of a QB. Down 51-33 at one point the almost won it against Mesquite Poteet, but fell 65-60. He threw for 605 yards and over 4600 on the year.

I have been mulling this one over every since I saw Whitehouse and Moody at the 4A State Semi Final Game at the Dell Diamond..So, It was Mahomes Vs. Cantu..

Whitehouse HS vs Corpus Christi Moody (Jun 06, 2013)

Mahomes is one of those young man that could be very successful in one sport or the other..I know..I am riding the fence....But, dang he has that potential to be very special.

Mahomes is a guy that the staff (new or old) needs to keep in touch with because if he goes baseball and struggles he could end up being a Weeden or Weinke type guy who walks on and ends up being a damn good QB. And I'd rather him do that here than somewhere else.
