Returning starters in '16

Curious, who do we think are red shirt candidates for the 2016 class? I didn't know where to ask this question, this thread seems to do.

I think the 16 class added a ton of depth, but I can only see a handful getting meaningful minutes next season. Does Charlie red shirt the rest or let them push for PT on specials and work their way up?

Off the top of my head, on offense

QB: obvs Shane if he doesn't win the job. And, personally, I'm always in favor of redshirting QBs

RB: Porter. Do we redshirt him with Foreman, Warren, Houston, and Johnson ahead of him? I think we hang on to his redshirt and only burn it if RB injuries force us to.

WR: Reggie? Lots of young WR depth I think: Burt, Collin Johnson, LJH, A. Foreman, Ryan Newsome, Deandre McNeal...I think Reggie might be a candidate. Curtis too. He ran a lot of Go routes on his HUDL, don't know how polished the rest of his route tree is. Maybe a year will help him. Although he does already know Gilbert's offense.

OL: Building depth here, I think Tope is probably the most obvious candidate to redshirt. I think Delance, Okafor, and Shack (and maybe even Aucoin) have a chance to crack the two deep.

On defense

DL: With our depth problems at DT, I think all of them earn a chance to be in the rotation. Same with DE.

LB: Fowler, Shark, and Boyd are the three signees. It's hard to see Shark and Fowler not competing for playing time, even though we do have some good players at LB. I think Boyd would be the most obvious candidate, but I think enrolling early helps him and that he might find playing time at a fullback/H Back Alex De La Torre type role. So maybe none here.

DB: No way BJones redshirts. That leaves Cuffee and Brown. I think both are possible redshirt candidates. Although with multiple CBs now transferring, Cuffee might find his way into the rotation. With both returning safeties plus multiple guys that got playing time last year plus BJones getting in there, I think Brown might redshirt unless they get him on ST. Given how we saw the coaching staff stick with Hall and Haines last year, I think for sure they're gonna want at least one upperclassmen with experience back there to try to balance out the freshman/sophomores.
