*****RED RIVER RIVALRY GAME THREAD - No.3 Texas Longhorns vs. No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners*****

Still in my seats at the Cotton Bowl. Sarkisian overthought this. Run the damn ball down their throat. Prevent defense doesn't work. You had the time out to give you a chance at the end. Too many unforced errors. Winnable game lost. Took a step back today, but can still get back in the playoff picture. We whooped their ass last year. Never under estimate the redemption factor.
The passing game was working really well with receivers pretty much wide open so Sark ran enough to keep them honest. QE was 31/37 for 346. The difference was TOs, penalties, and critical injuries.

Can’t believe couldn’t score from the 2….. don’t even hate the calls, just couldn’t get a push. Ended up being critical

They didn't score on their next possession, but, yeah, needed to score there. Their LBs are really good and made the difference there.

A typical Red River Shootout wrong team won but take care of business and a second chance.

A$M is manhandling Ala. even score is tied. Need Bama to win.

No but they scored at the end when it mattered lol points left on the table 100% mattered so not sure what your trying to get at

BTW, kudos to Burt Auburn for going 3/3 on FGs with a long of 47 with the pressure on. Sark did a good job remaining publicly confident in him this week after last week's misses. Not sure what Sark told him before the late 47 yard attempt, but it worked.

Sark lost it when he ran brooks on the 3rd and 9 to play for a fg. Had to be aggressive. Get that 1st and the game would of been won. Going conservative beats you everytime.

Too many throws behind the lime of scrimmage, but in the end players have to make plays. We just didnt make enough.

This. Absolutely this. Being aggressive got us where we were before today.

Sucks to lose like that. We’ll probably get another chance, but what difference would it make?
Georgia would kill our defense. I guess initial goal was to win Big 12. But I got my expectations up. Better to know now what you got than find out later.

Offensive line has to get better. Not just some of the time……all the time. Get down to the goal line and run 3 times and lose yards. Honestly we seen that for years. Maybe Simmons and some of the ones coming will be able to put pressure on the QB. Did we ever even make him uncomfortable? I didn’t see it. 3rd and 10 and we let him run untouched for a first down. Everyone had been reading the press clippings. We’re not there yet. Venables is doing pretty good with them. Beat them 49-0 last year. There is not very many players that we would trade for their players. We’re better at pretty much every position on the field. But as usual we f$&k it up

3 turnovers and 10 penalties mixed with poor play calling on 1st and goal cost Texas

Jaylan Ford was abysmal today. I’m pretty sure he was the worst defender we had out there.

If only DJ Campbell would bring the intensity every play. He tends to take off like 40-50% of snaps.

Ford tied for second with 8 tackles and a TFL. Not surprisingly, Barron led with 11 tackles. Mistake-wise Thompson dropped a pick and was apparently responsible for the busted coverage on the winning ou TD. From my observation, the Watt backups seem to have held their own which was good to see.
