Red McCombs says Mack will be back

Hard to understand how people continue to "predict" what will happen with Mack, when today was a perfect example of how much people really know what is going on, or what is going to happen. Not one of us is on the committee or has talked to Patterson about the coaching situation. Until we hear it from our new AD, its all speculation.

HeyZeus just said Patterson was brought in to be the hatchet man. Hopefully McPhaul will clarify this in tomorrow's Crossfire. Please!

With the way the team has bounced back, its hard to say Mack has lost the locker room.
Mack is doing even less coaching then he used to. The assistants are much more in control of the show.

Especially since he bought them chicken in Ft Worth during the weather delay..

Good grief..We are supposed to believe some dude named HeyZues instead of Red McComb?

Here is a bit of public information about Red. He spent $3 million to build the women's softball complex. He gave $50 million to the university business school. He is old..86.. and according to Forbes and worth $1.25 billion.

Some here, including so called insiders, need to take a reality pill. The guy is in on everything that happens at the University of Texas. If he wants Mack to stay, he stays!

Jamail deserves our utmost respect and so does Red.
Jamail's saber rattling and public fit throwing with the "sue" commentary is unbecoming of a supposed "elder statesmen". These two kept this train going down the wrong tracks for far longer than it should have, and lets not act like I insulted Jamail's mother.

The Mack Brown Effect seems to be the difference between Oliver Luck and Steve Patterson.

End result, looks like Mack Brown is leaving on his own terms. It wasn't that Patterson was the better candidate, Luck wasn't willing to come in and fire Brown. Don't think he wanted another "Bill Stewart" incident on his hands.

"Decides to retire" could very well be the same thing as "forced to retire" ... It's all in the delivery.

I'm not acting like anything. I'm just giving the men their do. Please read your PM.

Let me chime in. I agree that Joe & Red have done a lot for our beloved university however if they ran their personal business the way Bellmont has been run the past few years they would both be broke. I can guarantee they hold their people accountable for results. If they do not see we need whole sale changes then they are being blinded my emotion and not sound business principles. They need to step aside and let change occur if not our athletic department will continue to the a national laughing stock.

Red is a billionaire but if I am not mistaken Bob Rowling is a champion for change and he is worth 4.9 billion. More than Joe and Red combined. I believe Rowling is one of the major players for change but I am not privy to inside info.

Every one of the of the big money donors claiming to be ushering in the solution to our problems were big money donors that drove the program to the point it is at today.

Think about it.

well thank goodness for these guys, since otherwise we'd probably have DeLoss here until he literally passed away and Mack therefore until he was good and ready to retire, whenever that would be.

You're exactly right that it was the difference in the hire. But from what I'm being told you've got the wrong conclusion - the word is Patterson sold himself as being better prepared to deal with Mack. We'll see.
