Recruiting needs

IMO we are going to take a huge class, anywhere from 27-30 players. Here is how I see our needs. 

1-Offensive line: I think we need to take one more JUCO guy (Brandon Hodges is my guess). We might take 6 or 7 O-lineman in this class. 
2-Linebacker: Hager, Townsend, and Malik would be quite a pull. If we could somehow get one more out of Wheeler, Wallace, Cherry, and Kirkland I would love this LB class. 


3-Secondary: We have two hard hitters in the secondary right now with Johnson and Elliot. Give me 2 out of Davis, Hill, Boyd, Redwine, Hoggins and I'll be more than happy. There's some serious talent this year in the secondary. 
4-Tight end: This would be a higher need but since it isn't utilized that often, I have it at number 4. Granted, we may utilize the TE more with a decent player. IMO Gragg, Clark, and Clarington are all good players. Please let us just get one of them. 

5-Defensive line: IMO we are sitting pretty right now. We got three Strong type players. Lampkin, Brown and Omenihu. I would like one more defensive end. If we can get Vasser or Keke to flip that would be nice. 
6-QB: Not sure if we will take another QB in this class. I like that we are finally starting to build a little depth though with Heard, Gentry and Swoopes. Locksley is the only guy I think we go after, if not maybe a JUCO guy. I do think we need to keep pushing Locksley. 

7-RB: Not really a need IMO. Think we got 2 good ones last year in Foreman and Catalon, and we still get another year out Gray. Not to mention that we are going to land Johnson with Warren and/or Brossette. We are fine at RB. The more and more I read about Johnson he might honestly be the best back in our class at the end of the day. 
8-WR: I think we cleaned up in last year's class and it's not like we are going to be running 4 wide that often with our offense. Give me two out of Newsome, Burt, Thomas and I'll be happy. 

I'm not sure if we want to offer a scholarship to a FG kicker, but we really need to find one.

Can't really argue with any of that.

The OL has to be priority and I do hope that we get at least one more Juco there.

LB could be a big issue next year. I am hopeful Hicks can get the extra year and also wants to come back. He is receiving mostly late round draft grades right now, so it is possible.

I agree with you on the DL. Pretty stacked there and Poona is getting good experience this year.

I think we need to get a Juco FG kicker.

We really need someone with great speed to replace Harris. I really like Lodge, but  we don't seem to be in a good position there. But we need more speed in the passing game.

I would much prefer to have four or five quarterbacks on the roster: one or two redshirting and three ready to play if needed. That will take some time.

We have to have a couple or three linebackers.

I think Gray, Foreman and Catalon will be a good combo at RB, but we could use one or two more in case of injury.

That was a great win yesterday. If we can get at least one more, it should really boost recruiting.

Since you brought up tight end what is your take on Beck. I saw him out there blocking, seems like he was doing pretty good. Any thoughts on his potential.

Based on practice reports it sounds like he's a natural on the field. Hard to really tell from game performance because of limited reps.
