If none of this is true and Mack is coming back next year, then why did Dodds feel the need to retire early.

Mack isn't coming back next year. Dodds retiring and being replaced by Patterson was the straw that broke the camel's back. Mack had a chance to possibly save himself with a win in Waco and we saw how that worked out.

I think Dodds retirement is a huge sign for the Mack lovers that there is no such thing as next year.

IMO Deloss saw the writing on the wall (or more to the point....it was showed to him by the BMDs) and decided that if Mack was going to be shown the door, he wanted no part of it.

Im of the opinion Dodds was the BMD fall guy (he wanted to quit anyway) for Kearney and any residual from Major and ole Freak Nasty. I dont have an issue with that.

At this point, short of Sally, Joe Jamail and Red McCombs, there probably aren't a lot of "Mack lovers"

Yes but JJ is who they're all scared of. Don't forget Powers. When you have them no one else matters right?

Why has there been no announcement that Mack Is leaving after the bowl game. Normally teams like to get a jump on this process now for recruiting purposes?

Because we are stuck. It's pretty obvious that 50% of those who have "power" want him gone--like yesterday. And the other 50% who have "power" are fighting for him to stay.

This stuff about him being in NYC, talking to "kids", recruiting--it's just buying time. The problem is, it's valuable time that we could have made an announcement already and had the new coach lined up. Somebody who is part of the 50% that want him to stay is throwing a hissy-fit for whatever reason.

stay tuned!

Because Mack is holding this whole program hostage, and wants to drag it out, as long as possible.

Everyday that goes by, the more respect I lose for him.

MB led us out of the wilderness. Let us be grateful for that. Many of us believe that he does not know the way to the promised land.

Mack will retire and Saban will be the new coach while Powers will take UT to newer Heights. This has to happen because I have to much invested in the University of Texas.....Hook'em
