Reports that the new hiring will take place soon. Like I said, I don't think Patterson makes a move unless he's sure he can land someone else that's better. I bet this is already almost done. No doubt Patterson has been talking to other coaches and making unofficial offers to see where he's at.

That YahooForde article just released makes it sound like Marshall will be the next coach at Texas. Apparently Marshall has already turned down the Bama job because he wants the Texas job.

Patterson is in Iowa for the swim meet and the hire is supposedly coming within the week. 

This is already done I bet, just waiting for the coach to sign on the dotted line. Patterson wouldn't be in Iowa if he was looking for a basketball coach IMO.

What is your crystal ball telling you about our starting QB? How about filling out a depth chart for next season? 

LOL!  Just because I am an arrogant braggart, doesn't mean I know EVERYTHING. 

But I sincerely believe that Swoopes will be our starting QB.  I, also, believe the only real competition he will receive will be from Kai Locksley.  I'm pulling for Heard but, based on the reports I keep reading, I am starting to get the sneaking suspicion that he is out of his league.

Anyway, that's my view on the QB position.

I'm going to think about a depth chart because it would be a fun exercise in prognostication.  I think the mods should even start a thread about this and let all of us guess.

I hope this is correct.  If the "leak" were true, I would be extremely disappointed in Patterson's character and his management skills.
