After riding the roller-coaster that is the head coaching search I have decided that I don’t really care what the next head coaches name is, his name could be Donald Duck for all I care.
What I do think is important is the following:
They must be a very strong X’s & O’s coach on one side of the ball and have a proven philosophy that they can implement and recruit to by taking advantage of the Texas recruiting base.
They must be able to attract OOS recruits on a consistent basis. With Baylor & Aggie, recruiting in Texas has become very competitive and will be for some time to come.
They must be willing to hire coordinators and position coaches that are at the top of their game even if that means their stay at UT is only 3-4 years. I think turnover comes with the territory with a top flight staff.
They must have a proven record of developing talent or hiring a staff that has a proven record of developing talent.
They have to be hands on and very detailed oriented – No more CEO coaches
I don’t care if they are good in front of the camera, as long as they are not an a-hole all is good
I don’t care if all factions of BMD’s are bought in originally. When the coach develops this program into a perennial top 10 program that is a top 4 program every 2-3 years and wins the Big12 every 2-3 years they will all fall in line. WINNING CURES EVERYTHING
For now I'll just sit back and wait and hang out on HS.
