This one is a toughie. Yes, we have improved. At least we were three weeks ago. So there lays my question . . . Which team shows up? The team that is rested and ready to go? Or the one that has some rust to work off?
Typically, this is where Tom Herman has had success. That statement has been worn out this week in fact. Lots of time to prepare, get healed, and get focused on the opponent.
But would it be better to be in Iowa State's shoes? Where they have been playing and have no rust to kick off, still had plenty of time to prep for UT? That said, I saw where they lost one of their best defensive players this week.
To me, thats where ISU's hope is – defense. If they can stop our offense, they have the means to a win in Austin. One player does not make a defense, but it does to some extent when that person was a leader and top producer.
Too much here says Texas pulls this off.
Texas 34
Iowa State 27
