Saw this on 247 and these guys hit the nail on the head.
"If you went by the average score per recruit, Texas would currently have the 7th ranked recruiting class in the nation."
"I've even been guilty of this, but the perception of our class gets very distorted if all you are doing is comparing our rankings to A&M's. We have a very solid class right now. We definitely need to build on it, but we have a class 90% of the country would trade for right now."
This is something that is really distorted in all these recruiting meltdowns. If you are looking at the quality of players Texas has the number 7 class in the country right now per 247. Other schools are simply ahead because they have more commits. When Texas picks up a few more commits it will be in position to be a top 10 class. Also, this is how Strong recruits. Strong doesn't pressure kids to commit and this isn't always a bad thing. That's how we ended up with players like Cambell and Garza under Mack. Give Strong time, he's getting quality players.
