Seems the pre-game of the KU game is off the hook.

This is how you make basketball relevant. . . .

;)

I'm curious as to what this means. Do you have details as to what occurred? Cheering/chanting crowd? Hyped up show for player introductions?

Yes,

they hyped up the pre-game and really got the fans into it. . .

Sadly,

the the Rick Barnes lead team took the court and sucked the life out of the crowd faster than a Tom Brady football.

You want people to show up, you have to make it an event.

Of course you have to put a quality product on the floor too.

That was easily the best home crowd in the last 2-3 years, and I wouldn't argue if you doubled that number.

Crowds, pregame and game atmosphere have been fairly average for Texas up until today. We debated in the press box how much of the spike (in both attendance and energy) was due to the opponent and the way the Horns performed in their last 2.

The crowd was just looking for an excuse to get riled up in the 2nd half. I'm very curious to see what the crowd is like in 10 days - especially since the Horns will be coming off two tough roadies.

So how is the Big Mistake relevant to a bunch of Texas and KU fans showing up for a basketball game?  This is the guy that screwed up firing Mack and passed on firing Barnes to allow this basketball season we are doomed to see another NCAA one and out.

lol. We seem to have lowered the bar for what is expected of the AD at Texas so low that getting one basketball game right is now worthy of praise. I'm already eagerly anticipating next basketball season so Patterson can wow us again.

The Texas v Kanses game is always sold out. Scholz's was littered with KU fans, probably 70% of the folks hanging outside were KU fans.

The bringing fans in the court to dance the "shanahnah"? was laughable and ridiculous. Secondly, who were the unatheletic group of spirit people in the white Horns athletic pants? The dudes were both wearing yellow compression sleeves on one arm? Wouldn't having the Pom squad or more of the sassy cheerleaders on the court be a better visual? Well it would have been for me. I did however enjoy the placement of some cheerleaders in the upper deck near my seats, but highlites another problem of seating 1/2 of the students who attended the game in the upper deck. At least they came though, when I was a student the attendance by students sucked even worse than now.

Except for Taylor, the guard play on offense was poor. Whenever Taylor was out, the offense seemed to stall.

Kansas had better athletes and better offensive execution than Texas.

The atmosphere for football sucked as well. The place was like a ghost town compared to the past 20 years around DKR. No venders, no nothing around the stadium like there was before.

The Drum may be like a ghost town after ISU and Baylor get through with our Horns.

I sure hope Augie's baseball team can save the year again, because the other sports at Texas are sucking hind teet much like last year. I know...I know...... we are a volleyball school !!!! hurraaaaahhhh !!!!
