For openers, here's a short interview I had with Vahe after the game:

You really don't understand how scary Patrick Vahe is until you catch him post game after a big win.  At that point he hasn't burned off the adrenaline from the game and still seems like he's ready to go another quarter.  We caught up with the massive Trinity lineman following their 49-31 win over Plano West.  "To be honest I was sick, I had really bad congestion in my chest and in my head.  I never give up on my brothers, I just play with them no matter what happens".

Vahe was dominant the entire game often lining up on whatever side Trinity wanted to run to.  Trinity racked up 396 yards rushing and only had to put the ball in the air four times.  Trinity is known for their punishing brand of power football and Vahe thinks that will match up very well with what the Longhorns want to do, "Physical, I like to play a physical game so when I get to Texas if they want to play a physical game I'm back at home".

Vahe starts at tackle for the Trojans but projects to be an inside player at the next level standing 6'3 299 lbs.  Thoughts are that Joe Wickline might want him at guard or center, but Vahe is ready to contribute wherever he's needed.  "Wherever he needs me" Vahe said when asked where he might play at the next level.  He continued, "I'm just a man that's here to help out the program".

While recently he's taken visits to other schools Vahe remains solid to the Longhorns.  While walking off the field he smiled easily and threw up the "Hook 'Em" to many in the crowd.  When asked what he had to say to Longhorn fans, Vahe replied, "I'll be home soon".

Thanks for the great report Mike.  Especially liked the last paragraph, about Vahe throwing up the "Hook em"

and sounding like he's solid to UT.  Of all the players who have committed to Texas thus far, he's the one I most

pray will stick with us on signing day.  With players like him...Texas can achieve greatness again!

After seeing Vahe live i'm very excited with the way he moves.  He can thrive in either the zone or power scheme.

I tried to get something with jamabo and was basically told he won't do interviews when they lose.

We're working to get the audio up from Mike's quick interview with Vahe.  Stay tuned.
Hey Aaron, I have made a point of thanking Juan Grande and Utisdabomb for their always positive

reportage of all things sports-wise, as regards the University of Texas.  I just wanted to thank you,

too, for your great positive posts. You and the posters I mentioned above are all positive, proactive

(never critical of players, which I really appreciate) and only have good things to post. You and those

mentioned above are why I hang with this site. Keep up the great posting!

This post absolutely defines my feelings.  I have always felt that any dominate team has to start with a foundation and in my opinion the offensive & defensive lines are the base.  He is the most impressive offensive lineman I have seen highlights of.

Agreed @gmcc!

This was the mistake of our previous staff. If you look at our championship year, you can tak all day about VY (well deserved), but many seem to forget just how dominant that OL and DL was. There were NFL players on both sides and those lines absolutely mauled people. I believe that this team is being built from the lines out.

Can you imagine what Wickline can do with some serious talent at his disposal? Especially  considering what he has done with no depth and none experienced players in just this season.

I wish we could have gotten more but we were literally jogging off the sideline during that interview.

Vahe reminds me of Shane Dronett.
Dronett was a d-lineman, so I'm taking your comment as the nasty attitude they both brought/bring to the table. Vahe sounds like a very exciting addition to the team, he should be a road grader for Wikline.

Of course, who have we had with that nasty attitude that could back it up since Droneett?
