OT - The Dallas Cowboys

Winston wouldn't be a bad pick up. I actually think Hundley @ UCLA may be a better QB though. Winston's attitude just doesn't sit well with me with the things he's pulled off the field.
Which is probably why he's a perfect fit in Dallas. He's polarizing.

That said, I actually agree with you. I'd rather trade down if Hundley drops and see if we couldn't pick up an extra 1st in 2016.

If Romo goes down I understand the thought process of picking a QB. But what if he plays every game and had decent stats?

To me, not a question of if but rather when he hangs them up. . .the 5 year deal was a huge mistake (and said it at the time).

I'm a BIG fan of trading down (as trading up has been a loser overall for Jerrah) and acquiring more picks. . . Da Boys have been doing a really good job rounds 3-7 and in undrafted FA. . . .

Speaking of which, it looks like Armad Dixon is going to be a contributor this year. . .pretty good pick with a #7. . . .though I think they screwed up passing in Jeffcoat . ..

I would love to kick Jerry's ass for not drafting Jeffcoat. I also think the Romo deal was stupid, but that is the basket that jerry put the eggs in. We can't trade him and he can't sit the bench with that contract. How much dead money do we have if we cut him in two years. I think we will have cap space in 2016.

Sorry I was trying to add a reply to that quote. This is why I think next year needs to be all about drafting defense. We have to be able to make stops. Drafting a QB does not help us as much as a game playmaker on defense does

I hate to rain on anyone's parade but as long as Jerry Jones is running the Cowboys, they will not be worth the time of day it takes to watch them. The guy can make money, but he can't put a winner on the field. Piss on him. And on the horse he rode in on. And the horse's mother.

Now, now fellas. I'm all for somebody forcibly brainwashing Jerry Jones to hire a GM. But outside of Cuban, I don't think we could ask for a better owner.

Would you rather have Romo or Eli Manning?
Doesn't Eli lead 2 to 0 in the Super Bowl ring category? I know he has been an inconsistent regular season guy, but can't argue with the rings. I don't dislike Romo, he has generally had a poor supporting cast to assist him. Kinda like Colt leading the charge with below average OLs over the years. Romo has had impressive stats, bad plays, good plays, and seems like a good dude overall. Can't win by yourself. All this from an impartial Steelers fan FYI. Definitely not a Cowboys fan, but appreciate good players and teams when applicable.

Book claims Stephen Jones stopped Jerry from taking Manziel

Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones has acknowledged that he almost drafted Johnny Manziel, and that he talked about it with his son Stephen at the moment the Cowboys were turning in their card. But a new book says it was a more dramatic scene than that.

According to author Jim Dent in the new bookManziel Mania, Stephen had to physically restrain Jerry from turning in a card with Manziel’s name on it, and if it hadn’t been for Steven stepping in, Manziel would be a Cowboy.

“Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones had snatched the Manziel card straight out of his dad’s hand. Otherwise, Jerry would have drafted him and JFF would have sat for at least three years behind Tony Romo,†Dent writes, via the Dallas Morning News.

If Jerry watched Manziel’s sub-par performance on Monday night, he may be thanking his son today.
